Edmonton continues to show what’s possible when sport, community, and business align.

Great night at the Business of Sport Series Presented by ZerOne at the Royal Mayfair Golf Club, discussing the impact of the CPKC Women’s Open returning to Edmonton this August.

Appreciated the insights from Laurence Applebaum, Elizabeth Stewart, Vanessa Hettinger, and Franca Brodett, moderated by Quinn Phillips, on how women’s sport continues to drive opportunity for both the community and Edmonton’s business sector.

Thanks as well to Mayor Andrew Knack and Explore Edmonton CEO Traci Bednard for helping set the stage for an important conversation about the continued growth of sport in our city.

Looking forward to experiencing the energy of the CPKC Women’s Open back in Edmonton August 19–23 ⛳

Our final panelist for our March 25th Business of Sport Series Presented by ZerOne is Franca Brodett: a Canadian content creator, speaker, and golf advocate focused on driving growth and engagement in the women’s game through storytelling and community. As one half of Team Franella — third-place finalists on The Amazing Race Canada Season 8 — Franca and her sister, Nella, have built a platform rooted in authenticity, high energy, and a passion for golf, family, and active living, all delivered with a comedic edge.

An experienced keynote speaker, Franca shares insights on resilience, representation, and embracing your authentic self, drawing from both her personal journey and national television experience. Passionate about the future of women’s golf in Edmonton, she brings a fresh, community-driven perspective on how the sport can grow by engaging new players, fans, and partners in meaningful ways.
