Planning to vote by special ballot? The deadline to request a special (mail in) ballot is tomorrow: Friday, September 25, 2026.

Having information about different ways to participate can help support accessible voting for older Albertans — including people who may have mobility or transportation challenges, caregiving responsibilities, health appointments, or other circumstances that can make voting in person more difficult.

You can request a special ballot online, by phone or by email. You can also arrange to pick up a ballot package in person at:
• Your Local Returning Office: by 6:00 pm on September 25
• Elections Alberta Edmonton office: by 4:30 pm on September 25

If you receive a special ballot, remember that your completed ballot package must be returned by mail and received by Elections Alberta no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, October 16. Elections Alberta cannot accept completed special ballot packages delivered in person.

What makes a community a great place to grow older?

Join the Edmonton Age Friendly Alliance (EAFA) on Thursday, October 8 at Edmonton Public Library – Whitemud Crossing Branch for an afternoon of film, conversation and connection.
At Sage, we know that older adults bring valuable perspectives to the conversations that shape our communities. We encourage seniors to come out, connect with others and add their voices to the conversation.

Celebrate National Seniors Day with poetry!

Poems have a way of connecting us—to memories, ideas, emotions and to one another.

On National Seniors Day, we’re inviting you to share your creativity by bringing an original poem or reading a favourite poem. Or simply come along, listen and enjoy the company.

Join us for an afternoon of poetry, conversation, goodies and refreshments as we celebrate the creativity and voices of older adults in our community.

Everyone is welcome—whether you’re ready to share a poem or happy to be part of the audience.
