~ WAITING FOR SOMEONE PATIENT ENOUGH TO SEE HER SHINE
Some kind neighbors reported that a couple of dogs had been abandoned inside a fenced, empty lot in a small town near Puerto Vallarta. They were starving, filthy, and covered in ticks and fleas. It was not a safe place and left them in danger of ending up in the wrong hands. The shelter was already completely full at the time, but Nayeli simply couldn’t look away, and she decided to get them and bring them to safety. They arrived at the shelter in terrible condition, but at least they were finally somewhere safe. A vet visit provided some positive news as they tested negative for all the scary illnesses. They did test positive for ehrlichia, which was not surprising considering that they were covered in ticks. Antibiotics, vitamins, good food, and lots of care were prescribed, and off they went toward a brighter future. Piloncilla was one of those puppies.
Piloncilla is about 4.5 years old, weighs around 15.5 kilos, and is a beautiful Sighthound mix.
Piloncilla was happy to finally have a safe place to simply be, without having to worry about where her next meal or drink of water would come from. She enjoys spending time in her favorite corner, quietly watching the other dogs play, and every now and then she decides to join the fun. This girl also loves going outside for walks and little adventures, but she can never resist some relaxing time on the sofa while getting plenty of gentle pets. Piloncilla is a sweet and wonderful pup, although she can be a little shy when meeting new people. She needs a bit of time to feel comfortable and secure, but once she realizes she is safe and can trust you, her true personality begins to shine. She is smart, loving, and affectionate, and watching her come out of her shell is truly rewarding. This sweet girl walks nicely on leash and enjoys saying hello to the other dogs she meets along the way. When she gets some off-leash time, she is social and happy to interact with her canine friends. She also does well in the car and seems fascinated by everything she sees through the window, attentively watching the world go by. Piloncilla is an easygoing girl who is happy to share her food, toys, and even her favorite sleeping spot with the other dogs. We don't know yet how she feels about cats, but a cat test can be arranged if requested. Piloncilla is not the social butterfly who runs up to a stranger and immediately asks for attention. She is more of a “give me a little time, let me get to know you, and then I will show you my heart” kind of girl. Once she trusts you, you will discover the smart, gentle, loving girl hiding behind that initial shyness. She needs someone who will give her time and security, and in return, she will give them something incredibly special — her trust, her love, and a forever friendship.
