Jiffy Pop's brothers are now ready to find their forever home, together.

Meet Orville and Ping Pong. Two brothers. One very special bond.

Although their lives began with a struggle to survive some of the worst living conditions a kitten could possibly face, these two have overcome it all and are ready to leave the past behind!

At just 5.5 months old, Orville and Ping Pong are eager to find their forever home, and these handsome little tuxedo boys come as a package deal! Whether they’re snuggled up for a nap or keeping each other entertained, these two are happiest when they’re together.

💕 Ping Pong is the self appointed president of the welcoming committee! Outgoing, incredibly affectionate, and a shameless attention hog, he thinks nothing of sitting on his brother’s head to ensure he’s the only one you can see at cuddle time. If there’s love being handed out, you can bet Ping Pong will be first in line!

🐾 Orville is his slightly more reserved sidekick. He was the last kitten in the litter to be caught, so he’s still a little shy at first. Orville prefers to observe the action before jumping in, but with his confident brother leading the way, he’s quickly discovering that humans, cuddles, and being the centre of attention (when Ping Pong allows it) aren’t so bad after all!

Together, these two are the perfect balance. Ping Pong brings the confidence, Orville brings the sweetness, and together they bring a whole lot of love (and probably a little mischief!).

Both boys are neutered, vaccinated, parasite treated, tattooed, and microchipped.

They would do well with another feline in the household, older, respectful children, and likely even a well behaved dog with proper introductions.

An application approval and home visit are required for adoption.

James is thankful that we are able to help him because of the support we receive from our incredible supporters and community. It might not look like it in the picture but he is already feeling a bit better since having one treatment of Revolution last night. This makes me even more sure that we are dealing with mange. He will still be going to our vet ASAP to get further treatment and testing but for today we have at least been able to relieve some of the intense discomfort and pain that is caused by mange. James will need time to recover and heal all of his badly damaged skin before we know what his future will be. But I feel pretty confident that after some TLC from the Aunties he will choose the beloved pet option.

This poor boy right here is a perfect example of why our rescue focuses on the most vulnerable throwaway and forgotten cats. I don't see a mangy tomcat with no value. I see a cat suffering in pain because he was failed by humans. These are the cats who need us the most. The majority of these free roaming cats were acquired when they were young and cute and were then tossed aside once the novelty wore off. This poor boy has what looks like mange and this is the first time I have dealt with mange on a cat in the almost 30 years I've lived and done cat rescue in the Cowichan Valley. What this tells me is that the problems that are directly and indirectly related to cats and kittens being given away unfixed are getting worse, not better. The medical issues we see in free roaming cats that used to be uncommon and rare in this area are now becoming common. This poor boy is a young tomcat and is not feral. He's scared but he let me scritch his ears. He definitely has had physical contact with humans and was probably adored briefly when he was young and cute. But this is how he ended up when he wasn't young and cute anymore. He is the result of "free to a good home."

This little mom cat is so small that you have to really look to know which one she is. She's not much bigger than her kittens. But that doesn't stop her from being one of the most protective mom cats I've ever met! When we first went to check out her feeding site and make a trapping plan she came out to say hi to us. While we were there a huge raccoon came out too and our first concern was for mom cats safety. Until she bolted directly at the raccoon with hackles up and ninja mode fully activated. I've never seen a raccoon run so fast before. It was pretty funny to see and it gave us some serious respect for this tiny little warrior cat who has done an amazing job of feeding and protecting her babies. They're some of the healthiest kittens I've ever seen coming from an industrial site feral colony. We're still getting to know them and they're still pretty scared but I think they're going to end up tame.
Mom and her three sons and one daughter still need names if anyone has suggestions.

Audi came to us recently from one of the worst sites I've ever trapped at. She's the grandma to Jiffy Pop who we posted about yesterday. This tiny little cat is about 5 years old, which is pretty much considered senior in feral cat years. Especially for cats who come from a site like this with so many parasites in the environment. I figured after 5 years of living wild and surviving by eating rats that Audi would have no interest in human affection but I was very wrong. She is a bit socially awkward for sure, but she is already a huge fan of ear scritches and having sweet nothings whispered to her. She is now dreaming of getting those ear scritches every day in her very own forever home with someone who will be patient and calm with her while she figures out the concept of being a beloved pet. Audi still has some recovering to do from her very rough beginnings, and some dental care needed, but we will be looking for that special home for her very soon.

🐾Jiffy Pop Update🐾🍿

Jiffy Pop came into our care from one of the worst sites we've ever trapped at. It is a truly awful site for cats to live and we're working hard to get them all out.
But this lucky little girl was adopted so quickly that we never even got to post her as available for adoption. Now called Pawpaw she is very happily settled in to her new forever home and is experiencing the joy of making endless biscuits and being a beloved pet. Just listen to that purr!

We really do have lots of other cats coming and going but we get multiple inquiries about Bobby every day so it's easier to just answer them with an update post here.

Bobby is doing good. He went through a bit of a rough patch with some new pain issues but we're getting that figured out and keeping him as happy and comfortable as possible. He starts new meds tomorrow and if that's not enough to keep him comfortable we will look at having a custom brace made for him. The problem with him becoming more mobile is that he's sometimes creating movement in the fractures that cause him pain. He is also likely experiencing some amount of pain from the bone fragment but the fractured vertebrae are currently more significant to his discomfort. So what this means is that as much as we want him to feel better and become more mobile we do have to discourage too much activity so we can keep his pain under control. Spinal surgery is still in his future but for now we have to maintain that balance of keeping him happy and comfortable so he can heal but mellow enough to not be painful. Bobby has a large team of medical professionals looking out for him and guiding us through the long process of his healing. We feel very confident that we're doing all the right things and that Bobby has a great future ahead of him once we're past these healing hurdles. He's a very happy and sweet little guy who loves everyone he meets. We're extremely grateful for Team Bobby and for all of our supporters who have not even met him but still love him like he's their own.

As he gets more mobile he'll be more independent with his toileting and will need the low entry box while he's still learning to walk again.
