The Cowichan Foundation is proud to present the fourth annual youth MC Visual Poetry Competition & Film Festival in honour of the late Michael Coleman, who leaves behind a legacy of beautiful poetry and unequivocal service to the Cowichan Valley. Contest Details:

- Contest is open to all high school students in the Cowichan Valley and Ganges area

- Cash Prizes! An original, written composition
2. A 1-5 minute video performing or otherwise illustrating the work. We are encouraging contestants to be creative for this video. Being a visual poetry contest, the visuals should work to enhance the written piece.
3. A short bio

- Topics can be controversial and provocative. There are points for clarity, passion, and messaging

- *No racist, homophobic, sexist, ableist, content. No vulgarity.*

- *No plagiarism or AI-produced work will be accepted.*

- Entry deadline is Monday, April 14th, 2025 at 8pm

- Winners will be announced at our spring Film Festival on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at VIU Cowichan.
