We focus on prevention, recovery, and stability—reducing hospital visits, supporting people through and beyond crisis, and building stronger, healthier communities. Together with our branches in Halifax, Colchester East-Hants, and Southwest Nova, we promote mental health for all and support the resilience and recovery of people experiencing mental illness throughout Nova Scotia. In 2024, CMHA NS received accreditation under Imagine Canada’s national Standards Program, a Canada-wide set of shared standards for charities and nonprofits that strengthen board governance, financial accountability, fundraising, staff management, and volunteer involvement.
