Guitars for VETS, Canada

Guitars for VETS, Canada Guitars for Vets Canada is a simple concept. The premise of the program is to put the healing power of music in the hands of heroes.

Veterans / still serving members of the CAF and RCMP, who are dealing PTSD or other service related injuries, are provided a free new or gently used guitar and 10 free lessons. Lessons may be in person or online, one on one or group lessons - dependent on the students preference and instructor availability. As the year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together.

This year, because of the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors, VETS Canada was able to provide critical support to Veterans and their families facing homelessness, food insecurity, crisis, and transition. This year, we moved into our new National Headquarters, opened our Veterans Community Pantry, and, thanks to your support, made a real and measurable difference in the lives of 620 Veterans and their families across the country. To put that into context, that is the largest number of Veterans we have supported since 2018.

The need, however, has not slowed—and neither will we.

As we close out 2025, we invite you to consider making a year-end donation. Your gift today helps ensure Veterans receive the support they deserve, when they need it most. Donations made before December 31 are eligible for an income tax receipt for this tax year.

Together, we can end the year with impact and start the next one with hope.

Thank you for standing with Canada’s Veterans—this year and always. 🇨🇦

Huge congratulations to George on completing his 10 lessons with the Guitars for Vets program. We are thrilled to be able to celebrate this accomplishment with you.

Many thanks to volunteer instructor, Neil, for guiding so many students through their musical journey.

Here's to achieving many more musical milestones in the future!

Today, we pause to honour the Veterans and military members who have served, and continue to serve our country with courage, commitment and sacrifice.

But remembrance cannot be confined to a single day. Their service shaped our freedoms, their sacrifices touched families and communities across the country, and their legacy lives with us every day.

As we reflect on November 11th, let us also carry forward a daily promise: to remember, to support, and to stand with our Veterans and serving members - not just today, but always.

We will remember. Every day.

What a great way to share the gift of music!

Sing, strum or speak at one of our three open mic events.

Music plays a key role in the lives of Veterans and Canadian Armed Forces members—during ceremonial drill, commemorative events and increasingly in therapeutic environments.

is a day for all of us to remember and honour the children who never came home from residential schools, as well as the survivors, their families and communities. We encourage everyone to take some time to educate themselves on this shameful time in Canada's history and to understand the impact of the intergenerational trauma caused by residential schools.
