New Start Society is looking for new board members! Our work focuses on supporting people who are seeking healthier relationships with their partners and families.
This is an exciting time to join as we begin our strategic plan and think about the future of the organization.

We are looking for people who are engaged, care about the work we do, and want to be part of meaningful change. We welcome interest from all backgrounds, with a particular interest in connecting with folks who have experience in law or finance.

The Day of Caring is happening here on Thursday from 10:30am to 2:30pm! It's a free day to access essential basic services:

• Tax and CRA Services
• Service Canada (SIN, Dental Care Plan, & More)
• Nova Scotia Provincial ID
• Nova Scotia Birth Certificates
• Income Assistance
• Hair Cuts and Aesthetics
• Health Card Registration, Renewal, and Replacement

October's Adventure Club is our annual Halloween party! Join Fatherhood Matters on Saturday, October 31st form 11am - 1pm for pumpkin carving, snacks, and Halloween fun. Costumes encouraged. Please contact [email protected] to register.

Adventure Club is a monthly event for fathers, male caregivers, and their children. Adventure Club is always free of charge!

Co-parenting can come with challenges, especially when parents are separated or divorced. Cooperative Co-Parenting is an 8-week program designed to help parents and caregivers strengthen communication, reduce conflict, and create a stable, nurturing environment for their children. 💜

Facilitated by Cassandra McDonald, this program is ideal for co-parents at any stage of their journey and is focused on putting the needs and well-being of the child first.

Join Fatherhood Matters for our upcoming Braids & Bows workshop on Saturday, September 19th from 1pm to 3pm.

This fun and skill-building workshop is for fathers or male-identifying caregivers and their children (recommended ages 5+). We will spend the afternoon learning about basic hair care and hairstyles. Every participant will receive a goody bag to take home!
