Our apartment building is 80-85% framed, with roofing in August. Concrete decks are underway, and rough-ins are on schedule.

Meanwhile, our townhome projects are advancing through their structural phases, with framing timelines locked in for the coming weeks.

Each milestone brings us closer to delivering 100+ new affordable homes to Calgary.

From foundation to final turnover, we're building with precision, quality, and purpose - creating homes that provide stability for the families who need them most.

For years, we had the data. We knew what our buildings needed. But we were stuck asking the wrong question: How do we pay for this?

The shift came when we changed our lens, leading with resident satisfaction rather than cost, then mapping our needs against available funding. That simple reframing unlocked capital we didn't know existed.

Moving from paralyzed to purposeful isn't about having more money. It's about asking better questions.

A shift from reactive to strategic.

When you're managing thousands of homes and residents, you can't solve problems one at a time. You have to see the bigger picture, treat your portfolio as one interconnected ecosystem, not a stack of individual buildings.

Elizabeth was facing a housing crisis. She'd been told to leave her current home by July 1 with nowhere to go.

Then Onward reviewed and prioritized Elizabeth's YYC Seniors Housing application on the waitlist and called her the very next day. By June 29, Elizabeth had signed her lease and received the keys to her new apartment.

"Had it not been for your compassion and dedication, my mother would have been left without a safe place to live." – Elizabeth's daughter

This is what safe, affordable housing means. Not just shelter, but safety, dignity, hope, and a second chance when it matters most.

Onward marked a major milestone yesterday, joining the federal government at Currie for the announcement of funding support for the project.

"At Onward, we know a home is the foundation for everything else. With support from the Government of Canada, we are bringing 72 new homes to Currie, including homes for women and children and accessible apartments for people of all abilities. Together, we're creating homes that will strengthen lives and communities for generations to come." Shared Onward's CEO, Martina Jileckova.

That vision became Hari Housing Society in 1976. Its first development, Horizon 14, embodied a bold new approach to inclusive community housing.
