There is a profound sense of peace that comes from a place where you don't have to explain who you are. Whether it’s a physical place like the Flo House or the quiet strength of a family network, having a space to reunite reminds us that we are connected and safe.

These connections act as a living safety net, offering:

• A place to pass down stories, traditions, and the values that anchor us.
• The ability to lean on one another during life's transitions.
• Knowing that no matter where we go, there is always a "home base" waiting for our return.

In the end, it isn't just the walls of a house that provide shelter, it's the people inside who make us feel whole again.

As a mother of three and a business school graduate, I have dedicated myself to transforming ancient traditions into pure, handmade wellness. Today, I am the founder of Amina Products, and I’m proud to see my oils featured in shops and hotels throughout Zanzibar.

My journey began at my grandmother’s side, learning the traditional art of coconut oil pressing. What started as intriguing craft evolved into a business in 2019, after a group of volunteers struggled to find authentic, pure oil. I realized then that I had the skill to create the product, but I just needed the expertise to build the brand. With the support of the Daraja Foundation, who sponsored my education and provided startup guidance, I turned my dream into a reality.

Combining my roots with a business education allowed me to scale my dream. From my home to yours, I am honored to share the true essence of Zanzibar.

You can help us create opportunities for the motivated and hard-working youth in our programs. By gifting your tech, you are directly investing their academic success. Please consider donating!

What we need: Functional laptops with chargers.

Condition: New or used (ideally capable of running basic web browsers and word processing).

Impact: Your gift will be used for research, homework, and developing essential digital literacy skills.

Kabisa doesn't just showcase Zanzibar’s rich culture globally, they invest in the people behind it.

We are proud to share Salma's success! Salma was a participant in our women's empowerment initiatives. Through Kabisa’s sponsorship and tailoring training, she has built a sustainable livelihood. Salma’s journey has even taken her to Kenya with Kabisa to support the brand's vision, and she is now paying it forward by teaching her siblings the trade.
