Canadian Legacy Project

Canadian Legacy Project This is a trying time for many of our Canadian Veterans as they try to integrate back to civilian life.

Canadian Legacy Project is a national, volunteer-run charitable organization that provides free programs to support Canadian Veterans transitioning back to civilian life. Canadian Legacy Project supports our Veterans in need across Canada in the areas of Employment, Mental Health, Food, Equine Therapy, Employment, Business Start Up, PTSD Programing and Education. In order to help with the transiti

on Canadian Legacy Project has developed national programs designed to help those who have stood on guard for our great country. Canadian Legacy Project is one of the few registered charities which is run by volunteers allowing the dollars raised to go directly to Veterans in need. While operating a registered Canadian charity has some accounting and legal expense, we are very proud that 93% of the dollars that are raised go to our Veterans in need. Further information on the Canadian Legacy Project and our programs can be found at www.canadianlegacy.org

*****Canadian Legacy Project in NOT a government agency, we are a charity. We use our page to distribute information concerning the great work we do in the community and to post stories related to our Canadian military and Veterans. We do not offer our opinion on the stories we post from other news sources because we believe our audience should develop their own opinions without our influence. Posts from other news media are designed to create conversation and hopefully drive action so together we can end the struggle so many of our Veterans are facing as they try to integrate back into civilian life. *****

Did you know? In a 2023 study, the Canadian Veterans' Well-being Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) conducted by Veterans Affairs Canada, veterans expressed a greater need for recognition and appreciation of their sacrifices and selflessness in service.

Veterans identified a unique necessity for their health and well-being - the importance of feeling recognized, appreciated, and remembered for their military service and the contributions it made to Canadian society, both historically and in the present day.

Many veterans joined the armed forces knowing they could risk their lives. While their service brought positive experiences, they spoke of long-lasting impacts on their health and relationships, including chronic pain and strained family ties. Some felt their immense personal sacrifices were not fully understood by civilians. https://www.canadianlegacy.org/
