We are excited to welcome Rita Rebetskaia to our team as our new Coodinator, Dance Ensemble!
Rita Rebetskaia is an interdisciplinary theatre director and choreographer based in Calgary. She trained at the Igor Moiseyev Dance Academy and the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts and spent 15 years as a professional dancer with the Igor Moiseyev Ballet, touring extensively around the world.
In 2016, she founded InterAction, an inclusive theatre project bringing together artists with and without disabilities. Her work has since developed across theatre, dance, choreography, movement direction, and experimental performance.
After moving to Canada, Rita continued developing her interdisciplinary practice through collaborations with Dancing Monkey Laboratory, Error 404 Dance Found, Strata&co, and Alberta Dance Theatre, working as a director, choreographer, performer, and movement director.
Rita holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Research and Creation from the University of Calgary. She is the co-founder and Artistic Director of MurMur Theatre, founder of Spoon of Sugar Dance Studio, and teaches at Alberta Ballet School.
