Attention volunteers!!!

We are still very low on volunteers for the upcoming Canada Winter Games Selection Camp this weekend. We cannot run this event without YOUR help! No experience necessary, as we are proud to train new volunteers to ensure you feel confident in what you are doing. Food and drinks will also be provided.

This event will select the athletes who get to represent Team Alberta in Quebec at the Canada Winter Games in February 2027. This is an extremely important event not only for our athletes but for the future of having climbing as a CWG event. And for this event to happen, WE NEED YOU!!

Our volunteers are the backbone of the ACA, and we strive to ensure a positive experience for everyone. If you are available during the needed times, we highly recommend that you sign up. It’s the best seats in the house after all!

With the competition season around the corner, it is time to introduce the faces behind the ACA. These wonderful humans have dedicated so much of their time to improving this organization and contributing to its ongoing improvements.

You may recognize some of these faces from past competitions or around your home gym, but we are here to provide you with more information about who we are and what we do!

The ACA Board is a group of volunteers who have been elected to their positions as spokespersons for their respective areas. Although board members have their own unique titles referring to their area, everyone works together and provides input and opinions during discussions!

As our members, your opinions matter! We encourage you to come chat with us at competitions, in the gym, or wherever you might run into us. Did you learn that you have something in common with us after reading our introductions? Come chat! We want to establish meaningful connections with this inspiring community, so don't be afraid to speak up or ask questions.

We are excited to get this season going and see all the new and familiar faces!

The season schedule for the 2026/2027 season is official!

We are excited to announce that our Tier 2 events are getting a huge upgrade this season! Keep in mind that Tier 2 is only for bouldering events unless participants opt for Top Rope over Lead. A more detailed policy is being organized and published, so more information to come!

The seeding event in October will determine Tier positioning. More info to come about that as well!

At the moment, we are planning to have a Senior category at local events after Senior Provincials. This is due to a shorter Senior season, and we are hoping to give our Senior athletes more competition opportunities.

We are stoked to get this season going; keep an eye out for exciting new things to come :)

ACA YOUTH PROVINCIAL PODIUMS!!!!

Last weekend we wrapped up our final provincial boulder competition!! With our Youth C and D athletes competing in Red Deer the weekend prior, we finished the Alberta bouldering season off in Calgary with our older athletes.

To our incredible volunteers, you were the backbone of these events. We would not have been able to run these competitions without your help. For these provincial competitions, we need more volunteers than usual, and you all showed up!!! We are endlessly grateful for everything you do to support us.

Another huge shoutout to our amazing setting team, who worked hard all week to set some great boulders for our athletes.

And the biggest of congratulations to all of our competitors and our podium finishers!! REMEMBER: If you received a nationals or regionals invite from Jacquelyn, you must respond ASAP and get all requirements done.

We can’t wait to see everyone again for Lead Provincials in Calgary in a few weeks!
