Menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) is about more than access to products. Itโs about dignity, education, inclusion, and helping women and girls participate fully in everyday life. ๐ง
Open conversations can help reduce stigma, strengthen understanding, and create more supportive communities.
Along with our partners at The Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church Development Commission and with support from Canadaโs International Development โ Global Affairs Canada, we've created a practical resource to support these conversations.
The MHH Community Conversation Guide helps facilitators, educators, and community leaders:
โ๏ธ Organize inclusive discussions
โ๏ธ Demonstrate menstrual products and hygiene practices
โ๏ธ Encourage supportive community action
The session concludes with a traditional coffee ceremony, where participants are encouraged to commit to supporting women and girls in managing menstruation with dignity.
Because lasting change starts with conversation.
