Word of the Day: Reminisce
Part of speech: Verb

To reminisce means to think, talk, or write about pleasant experiences from the past.

Synonyms:
remember, recall, reflect, look back, recollect

Example:
“During the meeting, members reminisced about their first speeches and how far they had come.”

As we continue our Toastmasters journey, it is always meaningful to reminisce about the speeches, friendships, milestones, and moments that helped us grow.

What is one Toastmasters memory you love to reminisce about?

✨ Childhood Memories at Calgary Pace Setters! ✨

Our June 2nd meeting took us on a fun trip down memory lane with the theme Childhood Memories and the Word of the Day, “Reminisce.”

Josh delivered his first speech in the Evaluation and Feedback Level 1 project and was our automatic Best Speaker of the evening. Congratulations, Josh! 🎤

For the first time, James led Table Topics with his creative version of Bye Bye Miss American Pie, bringing lots of fun and energy to the meeting. Congratulations to Ose, our Best Table Topics Speaker, and to James, our Most Improved Speaker! 👏

A big thank you to our six guests and one returning member, who joined right in by participating in Table Topics and helping with meeting roles.

Our evaluation portion was led by Vesna “Mama Bear,” who earned the Best Evaluator ribbon. Great job as well to Melanie and Sayoko for their thoughtful evaluations.

As we head into the final weeks of the Toastmasters year, let’s sign up for roles, deliver speeches, and finish strong! 🎉
