Please be advised that, due to ongoing construction at the intersection of Dunbow Road and Pine Creek Road / 2nd Street East, traffic patterns will be changed as part of the planned construction activities during this period.

Key Details:
• Northbound traffic from Dunbow Road onto Pine Creek Road / 2nd Street East will be closed,
• Traffic will be re-routed along Dunbow Road to a temporary access road located at the west end of the project limits,
• Motorists are asked to follow posted detour signage to access Pine Creek Road, including access to the shopping mall during this closure.

The closure will be in effect from June 22 to July 2, 2026.

Please note that weather conditions and or other unforeseen factors may impact the schedule. Any updates or changes will be communicated as needed.

From Foothills County Public Works:

A quick update on some traffic disruption planned for the time period of June 22 to July 2.

AECON will be closing Pine Creek Road / 2nd Street to northbound traffic coming from Dunbow Road. A map has been provided below for your reference. This work is required as part of the overall upgrades to the current construction upgrades of the Dunbow Road Roundabout.

Please note:
• This closure will not affect EMS access to the fire hall. Existing and dedicated access will remain in place for EMS and staff.

• Regular traffic using this intersection will be re-routed to the temporary access (shaded in Blue) which has been constructed at the west end of the project limits, providing access to the shopping mall and the Lake at Heritage Pointe. Detour signage will be in place and monitored by all parties to ensure the traffic is aware of the closure.

• The schedule may be adjusted due to weather and other factors outside of the control of the Contractor.

Any necessary adjustments to the traffic management may be implemented if required.

Many have asked, so a call was placed to our District 6 Councilor John Callister inquiring as to what the delay is on the Dunbow Road construction project.

Construction is in a holding pattern, waiting on utility re-locations.

Unfortunately, we have not been advised as to updated timelines on the completion of the traffic circle planned for the intersection of 2nd Street and Dunbow Road.

A great turnout of cars and spectators for our 5th annual Show &Shine and community BBQ today

Many to thank for a great day, including Mother Nature who shone brightly for the duration of the event

Madison Edge Property Management, Okotoks Toyota, Foothills Creamery, Royal LePage Solutions, Costco Okotoks, Hubtown Brewery and Stockmans Restaurant all came through with generous donations, which will allow us to donate to various community charities

Many volunteers also assisted including the chefs from Foothills Fire Dept and the Soares family who kept the music pumping and the beverages flowing.
