Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, and their families and communities.

Our volunteers spent time together today and appreciated the opportunity to connect. We also took time to reflect on the meaning of this day and our responsibility to keep listening and learning.

We are grateful to the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people who continue to share their histories and perspectives. We encourage our community to listen to Indigenous voices today and throughout the year. 🧡

Congratulations to Mike G. on 3 years of continuous sobriety! When Mike reached out to us for help, he had found himself off track and knew it was time to make a change. Once he came through our doors, he committed himself to the work and began rebuilding his life through recovery.

From early on, Mike showed a strong willingness to give back and be of service to others. Over the past three years, that commitment has only grown. He has become an important part of our team, built countless meaningful friendships, and helped many people along the way.

Mike’s journey is a great example of what can happen when someone chooses to keep showing up and putting in the work. Congratulations on 3 incredible years, Mike! Keep up the great work — we’re all very proud of you!

Congratulations to Joshua S. on 2 years of continuous sobriety! When Joshua first came to Into Action, he had arrived from another society after battling his way through years of addiction. He quickly found a home with us and began building a new life through recovery.

It didn’t take long for Joshua to become a man of service. His willingness to help others, show up when needed, and put in the work eventually led to him becoming a key part of the team here at Into Action Recovery. Joshua is a great example of what hard work, dedication, and a commitment to recovery can lead to.

Thank you, Joshua, for everything you do for our residents, our team, and the recovery community. Congratulations on an incredible 2-year milestone! We are all very proud of you and look forward to seeing everything still to come.

Huge congratulations to Chris L. on 5 years of continuous sobriety! When Chris first came to us, he was at one of the lowest points in his life. His family had spent countless nights worried about him, never knowing what the next phone call might bring. Through recovery, Chris was introduced to a simple solution, committed himself to the process, and completely changed the direction of his life.

Five years later, Chris has become one of the most important parts of everything we do. The care, dedication, and commitment he shows to the residents every single day is second to none. He is someone people can count on, someone who is always willing to step up, and truly one of the backbones of our society.

Today, Chris is living a life that once seemed impossible, and his family can look at the man he has become with incredible pride and peace of mind. We feel the same way. Congratulations on 5 amazing years, Chris! Thank you for everything you do for our residents, our team, and the recovery community. We are all very proud of you!

Congratulations to Kevin I. on 13 years of continuous sobriety! Over the years, Kevin has continued to live by the principles he learned in recovery, with service to others remaining at the heart of everything he does. It would be difficult to count the number of people Kevin has supported, encouraged, and helped along the way.

Through his consistency, hard work, and willingness to give back, Kevin has become a familiar and valued part of our recovery community. Thirteen years of sobriety is an incredible milestone and a reflection of the commitment he continues to bring to his recovery and to helping others.

Congratulations to Edlin J. on 4 years of continuous sobriety! Four years ago, Edlin’s family reached out to us when they were deeply concerned and looking for someone to help him. At the time, Edlin was at one of the lowest points in his life, but he arrived at our program willing to learn, put in the work, and make a real change.

Edlin went on to successfully graduate from our primary program and continued strengthening his recovery through our sober living program. Over the past four years, we have had the privilege of watching him transform his life and continue moving forward in his recovery.

Today, his family couldn’t be more proud of the man he has become, and neither could we. Congratulations on 4 incredible years, Edlin! Keep up the great work!

Congratulations to Nathan M. on 2 years of continuous sobriety! Since the day Nathan first came to us, he has continued to put in the work and stay committed to his recovery. After completing our primary program, he made the strong decision to continue building his foundation in our sober living program before eventually taking the next step and moving out on his own.

Throughout his journey, Nathan has consistently shown a willingness to support his fellows and go above and beyond for those around him. Over the past two years, we have had the privilege of watching him grow into a completely different man and continue building a life rooted in recovery.
