Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI) BACI supports over 1000 children, youth & adults with developmental disabilities to live a good life. We are grateful to be on this shared territory.

BACI acknowledges and honours the Coast Salish people, on whose traditional, ancestral and unceded lands we work. This includes the territories of the kwikwəƛ̓ əm (Kwikwetlem), xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

Location Changed for Monika Wachowski's Celebration of Life

For those of you planning to attend the Celebration of Life for Monika Wachowski on August 11 at 11:00 am, the service will now be held at Jubilee United Church, 7591 Gray Avenue in Burnaby.

A reception will follow at the L'Arche building, 7415 Sussex Ave in Burnaby (only 2 blocks from the church). At the reception, two of Monika‘s favourite things will be served: pizza and ice cream sundaes. All who were touched by Monika's life are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, Monika's family has asked people to consider donating to BACI or the L’Arche Foundation.

BACI's 50/50 Fundraiser - A Win For All

Thank you to everyone who participated in BACI's 50/50 Cash Raffle Fundraiser! It was a great success!

We raised a total of $7,470, with the winner, P. Thomas, taking home $3,735 and the other $3,735 going to support BACI's Infant Development, Youth, and Family Services programs.

We look forward to offering another 50/50 fundraiser in the Fall!

In Memoriam - Monika Wachowski

It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our dear friend Monika (Moordryd) Wachowski, a cherished long-time member of our BACI family. After two years of declining health, she passed away in the early morning of July 17.

Monika attended the Day Program at BACI for 14 years, beginning in 2010. She was an independent spirit who loved cooking, bowling, the swings, going to the library, and watching her favourite videos on the computer. She also loved movies and music, a good laugh, and dancing! Monika appreciated purple, Harry Potter, ABBA, Disney, and giving affection to the people she cared about.

Monika‘s Celebration of Life will be held on August 11 at 11:00 am, at 7415 Sussex Ave in Burnaby (the L’Arche building). At the end of the service, two of Monika‘s favourite things will be served: pizza and ice cream sundaes. All who were touched by Monika's life are invited to attend.
