They’re calling on pipers and drummers of all ages from other bands to join them for this year’s Wynnum Halloween street parade. What a fantastic way to bring music and community together! 🧡

Bloody legend, Hughesy—good on you for speaking up. You’re giving a voice to concerns so many everyday Australians share, and we’re listening. 🇦🇺👏

Dad’s been saying “cash is king” for years—and plenty of other things we probably should’ve listened to! 😂❤️

David Crisafulli’s words in response to the ATO—and they capture the frustration we’ve been trying to explain.

Well done, David. Thank you for publicly standing up for small and family businesses.

AND THERE’S GOOD NEWS: the ATO’s planned withdrawal of credit card payments has been delayed. Payments will continue until 30 June 2027 while further consultation takes place.

That’s welcome breathing space. But we need a lasting solution.

When customers pay late, the bills don’t wait. Wages, rent, suppliers and tax still need to be paid. For some businesses, a credit card helps bridge that gap.

With card surcharge restrictions now in place, small businesses are already adjusting to another change in how they manage payment costs. Removing a cash flow option adds more pressure.

Why Wynnum stands with small and family businesses—on the Bayside and across Australia.

We’d welcome the same public support from our federal representatives. Kara Cook, as our Federal Member for Bonner, can take our local concerns to Canberra. Federal Small Business Minister Anne Aly and Treasurer Jim Chalmers have key roles in securing a lasting solution.
