Flashback to the Fresh Futures Expo last week 💙

We had the opportunity to chat about School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) and share one of the success stories from our Blue Tongue Pathways program.

Finished school, or getting ready to graduate, but not quite sure what comes next? Maybe you’re not ready for work just yet, or you’re still figuring out what kind of job might be right for you.

That’s where SLES can help.

Through Blue Tongue Pathways, we support young people to build confidence, independence and practical skills before exploring industries that interest them and gaining experience in real work environments.

SLES can be funded through the NDIS for up to two years for eligible senior school students and recent school leavers, generally up to the age of 22.

Whether paid employment is your goal now or something you’d like to work towards, we’re here to help you find your pathway. 💙

Sometimes “I can’t” really means… “I’ve never tried that before.” 💙

At Blue Tongue Adventure, we see what can happen when our Crew are given the support and encouragement to simply give things a go.

Whether it’s cooking a meal, performing on stage, trying a new sport, creating something, catching public transport or meeting new people, every new experience is an opportunity to build confidence and independence.

And the best part? Sometimes “I can’t” becomes “I did!” 🙌

Your NDIS goals aren’t just words on a plan - they’re things you can work towards in everyday life! 💙

At Blue Tongue Adventure, our Crew learn through doing. Whether it’s cooking, creating art, playing sport, heading into the community or trying something completely new, every experience can be an opportunity to build confidence, independence, communication and social skills.

For school leavers, Blue Tongue Pathways also offers SLES to help build work-readiness skills, explore different industries and take those next steps towards employment.

Whatever your goals look like, we’re here to help you work towards them - while having plenty of fun along the way!

No two days at Blue Tongue Adventure are ever the same! 💙

One day, we might start the morning with some yoga, bake a batch of muffins, head out for a bushwalk, then get stuck into some woodwork in the afternoon. 🌿🧘‍♀️🧁🔨

The next day? We could be getting creative with some art, exploring a museum, whipping up burritos for lunch, and finishing the day with an SLES session! 🎨🌯🏛️

Every day is a new adventure, with plenty of opportunities to try something new, build confidence, learn new skills and, most importantly, have fun along the way! ✨

Bowling is a great way to get out into the community, try something new, build confidence and enjoy some quality time with friends. Whether you’re chasing that perfect score or just there for the vibes, there’s always fun to be had at BTA. 🎳💙

A little creativity, a little clay, and a whole lot of fun! 🎨🐱🦆

Our crew got hands-on in their Art ’n’ Soul workshop, creating their very own clay animal faces, and we’re loving the results!

So far, we’ve spotted what looks like a very cute cat and a duck taking shape… but we’ll let you decide what you see! 👀

We can’t wait to see these little creations come to life once they’re finished. 🤍
