We’re calling all local makers to apply for our June and July Handmade Markets, held on the last Saturday of each month at the Queensland Museum Kurilpa Whale Mall 💫

This market gives you a weather-safe, indoor space to showcase your work and create a monthly shopfront where customers can see, touch, and fall in love with your handmade creations.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to grow your brand, it’s the perfect chance to connect with a supportive creative community and reach people who love to shop small 🧡

To our makers, thank you for showing up with heart and creativity in every market, every late night, every handmade gift. Watching you share your work and seeing you light up when someone connects with it is the reason we do this ✨

To our market goers, thank you for choosing local, for stopping to chat, for learning the stories behind the pieces and for supporting small businesses with your purchases and your kindness. Every bag carried home helps makers keep making ✂️

BrisStyle has always been about community where makers and customers meet, connect and create something bigger than a market day. Founded by makers, run by makers, and here because of all of you. 💕

We’re taking a little break in January to rest, reset, and plan what’s next and we’ll be back ready to bring you more handmade markets in 2026! 🌟

Meet the maker from Setta Silk👋

Seta is Italian for silk, and that's exactly what Denise works with.

From childhood flower pressing to botanical dyeing, Denise's craft has always been rooted in nature. Her mother was a keen green thumb so she grew up with flowers always blooming in the garden 🌻

Today, she dyes a range of silk pieces from small wrist wraps to sarongs using leaves, bark, flowers, seed pods and some botanical extracts 🍃

Her creative process starts with gathering and foraging the botanicals, visualising the colours, bundling, unbundling, washing and ironing and ultimately the big reveal.

Denise, her daughter and her friend are always experimenting with new ways to wear each piece, so if you spot them at the market, ask for a styling demo! They’ll happily show you all the ways to wrap, knot and drape her beautiful silks.

Fun fact? Denise was in a covers band for five years in her twenties! 🎤
