The Australian Army Water Transport reunion, celebrated in our Manly Lota RSL hall on Friday night (28th August), was a tremendous success by all accounts - proving yet again just how good our hall is, when hired as a venue for such events. And we even provided our own cleaner after the event 😃 A nice old gent by all accounts! (Photo by Wendy).

The Manly Lota RSL Hall at 184 Melville Terrace (Phone: 3348-2572) provides an excellent venue for all sorts of functions, from rallies to recreational classes to reunions! On Friday eve, 28th August, diggers from the Army’s Small Ships and Water Transport Squadrons and the Army Maritime School hired our hall for their annual reunion. Our bar was open, and everyone had a very colourful time!

In our President’s Bar on Friday evening, 21st August 2026, Val Jones’s son Paul received his 30-years Membership of the League Certificate from President Harry Pregnell. As usual, a pleasant crowd of members and guests were there to applaud the award and enjoy the company. Justin Phillpot and Joan Pease MP were down at the Manly Pub selling raffle tickets (Bless ‘em) but the others heard Rex Coombes deliver his weekly Dispatches and President Harry remind members that our Quarterly General Meeting is on tomorrow (Saturday 22nd August) at 0930 hours and ALL MEMBERS are invited and urged to attend!
