Account 4545-02937 Operating since 2011, we are a co-operative of volunteer foster carers and passionate animal advocates, working together to achieve our shared vision. We have

a no-kill philosophy, with a focus on finding animals their forever homes through our Foster to Adopt Program. This program is key to our organisation’s success, as it rehabilitates our animals in preparation for their new life. We focus on:
- reducing the number of unwanted and abandoned animals through rehoming
community education
- desexing initiatives, and
- liaising with other welfare organisations

We do this with a direct purpose, which is working towards the introduction of new legislation to give greater protection to all animals. This also serves to provide further direction for other registered rescue organisations. Maggie’s Rescue cares for all our animals through our amazing network of foster carers. They provide a safe and nurturing home for animals in need until their forever home is found.

Meet Houdini, the heart stealer! ❤️🕵🏼‍♀️

Tiny but full of personality, Houdini is a sweet, silly and affectionate little adventurer who loves being close to his favourite humans. Whether he’s following you around the house, climbing to new heights or disappearing under a blanket, he’s sure to keep you smiling. His dream home has humans who enjoy having a little shadow nearby, plus plenty of toys, tunnels and climbing spots and maybe a friendly resident cat to love on.

He can be shy with strangers but is a loyal little lovebug once he trusts you. He’d love a home with another playful or patient cat, and gentle school-aged kids could be a great match too.

Akubra is desperately in need of a foster home. She’s a gentle, sensitive cattle dog who can find the world a little overwhelming, so she needs a patient and understanding person who will give her the time and space to settle in at her own pace.

With the support of our trainer every step of the way, Akubra can slowly build her confidence and learn that she is safe. She may not be the dog who runs straight up to strangers, but once she trusts you, she has the potential to form an incredibly special and loyal bond. ❤️

🏡 Akubra’s Foster Dream Home:

Sydney or the Central Coast, preferably somewhere quiet
A patient, dog-savvy foster carer
Someone willing to work closely with our trainer and follow her behaviour support plan
A confident, friendly and happy-go-lucky resident dog is non-negotiable — Akubra will benefit enormously from having a canine friend to help show her the ropes
A secure yard and a quiet indoor space where she can relax and decompress
A calm, predictable home where she won’t be rushed or pressured
Foster-to-adopt homes are strongly encouraged

This gorgeous girl is still kittenish at heart, with a serious talent for inventing games, playing with ALL the toys at once and launching into random zoomies around the room. Her favourite is her ball, naturally because she loves showing off those incredible soccer skills!

Once she’s worn herself out, Gabriella switches gears and trots over for cuddles, happily rumbling away on your lap or beside you while you scroll, read or watch TV. Basically, she’s got the whole package. 💕

Gabriella would love an all-adult home where she’s the only pet, although she may be open to a friendly feline housemate or gentle kids aged 8+. Dogs, unfortunately, aren’t her thing.

She’s microchipped, desexed and vaccinated, and she’s ready to find her person. 🏡❤️

He’s put himself out there. He’s made the VHS. He’s shared his interests. He’s laid his heart on the line.

Okay, yes… the violins are a little cheesy. 🎻
But the truth about Oreo is anything but.

Oreo is 9 years old and, somehow, he’s still waiting for his person. He’s experienced a lot in his life and has often found himself pressured into situations he wasn’t comfortable with. So, unsurprisingly, he isn’t the world’s most confident guy.

But here’s the thing about Oreo: give him space, choice and a little understanding, and you get to see who he really is.

Having another dog around who isn’t worried about the world can really help him. And giving Oreo some agency … letting him make his own decisions rather than always making them for him … makes a huge difference. Because when he’s given the opportunity, Oreo usually makes the right ones.

He’s a good boy. He just needs a quiet, adult-only home with people who will respect his space, give him time, and let him build trust at his own pace.

Honestly, isn’t that kind of what we all deserve?

So yes, we’re on a mission to get this kid adopted. ❤️

After being rescued from a hoarding situation, Dice is now ready for a forever home! Equal parts cuddly, confident and playful, Dice is the purr-fect little family kitten!

She’s a total zoomie queen who loves chasing toys and inventing her own games, but when playtime is over, she’s all about warm laps, cuddles and purring her heart out.

Dice is great with children, loves other cats and would be delighted to have a feline friend in her new home. She’s also wonderfully adaptable and would suit almost any loving home.

We are moving, and getting our beautiful Marge Gunderson OUT of our kennels and INTO a foster home is now our absolute top priority. 🥹🤎

Marge needs a foster carer within the next TWO WEEKS … so this is the big push. We know her person is out there, and we’re hoping this post reaches them. 🙏

Our gorgeous Wirehaired German Pointer girl is the ultimate smoochy girl. She adores her humans, loves a cuddle and has SO much love to give. 🤎
