Ferncourt Public School in South Marrickville is again offering its very popular, old fashioned school fete with Inner West style. Don't miss ‘Get Smart or Get Slimed!’ where kids risk being sloshed in green slime from a slime dunking machine if they fail to answer trivia questions. Several stages wit

h amazing live music will run throughout the day with acts including Bernis Hayes and Julia Richardson, our local choirs, school bands, circus and much more. Children will enjoy fair rides face painting, 'nerf wars in the peace garden', a chocolate wheel, tombola and side shows. Just in time for Mother's Day, pick up a gorgeous handmade gift from the legendary Ferncourt Craft Stall or pick up a bargain at a massive White Elephant sale and an big array of stalls selling second hand books, clothes, chutney and more. Along with traditional sausage sizzle and cake stalls there’ll be international homemade food.For those who need a rest after all that fun a Devonshire Tea café will be set in the rose garden outside Ferncourt’s 1886 heritage administration block.

💜 What a day. What a community. 💜

We are completely overwhelmed by the support, generosity and energy of everyone who volunteered, donated, performed, baked, crafted, organised and visited the 2026 Ferncourt Family Fair.

From the coffee queue first thing in the morning to the final rides, dance performances and Devonshire tea scones in the afternoon — the school was buzzing all day with connection, laughter and community spirit. 🎡☕🎶🌿

There were sugar highs, full tummies, market treasures, tired little legs and so many happy memories made across the grounds of Ferncourt Public School.

A huge thank you to:
💜 our incredible volunteers
💜 the Ferncourt families and staff
💜 our performers and stallholders
💜 our sponsors and local businesses
💜 and the wider Inner West community for showing up so wholeheartedly

Events like this truly show the magic of community and how special our little school is.

While the stalls are packed away and the rides are gone for another year, the memories will stay with us for a long time.
