Earlier this week, the special contributions that volunteers make across the St George and Sutherland Shire, were recognised at the 2026 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards.

Two of our very own Life Care volunteers, Terry and Mario, were in attendance for the Southern Sydney ceremony, and received well deserved recognition for all they do at Life Care and the communities we support.

We have been blessed with the skills, heart, dedication and compassion that Terry and Mario bring to us, and their constant presence at The Life Centre Peakhurst, enabling our food rescue partnerships, hamper service and community connect programs.

Life Care delivers impact and care to our community, due in large part to our 70 strong volunteer cohort. Words can't really encompass how appreciative we are, and how generous and kind, this incredible bunch of humans are. 🙏🙏🙏

A big shout-out to Oz Bake for their generous donation of pre-cooked pizza slabs today! 🍕

These Halal certified and 4 star health rated products, were a surprise and very welcome addition to our fresh food hamper service today, bringing smiles to many in our community.

Life Care carefully prepare and distribute over 100 hampers of fruit, veg, bread, dairy and meat products fortnightly from the Life Centre, all rescued food from generous partners like Oz Bake!

We love the opportunity to partner with local businesses who have a heart for their community. 💝
