πŸ¦† Help Protect Platypus Habitat with Your Team 🌿

Join Greater Sydney Landcare and support the incredible work of Mulgoa Valley Landcare through a hands-on corporate volunteering day focused on restoring platypus habitat.

Your team will join an existing community-led conservation program working to improve local waterways by removing invasive weeds and helping native vegetation recover along creek lines. These healthy riparian zones are essential for platypus survival, supporting water quality, shelter, and food sources for native wildlife.

This is an opportunity for your organisation to contribute directly to a long-term local environmental project while connecting with community volunteers already making a difference on the ground.

βœ” Support an established community conservation program
βœ” Create measurable environmental impact
βœ” Strengthen team connection through meaningful outdoor work
βœ” Contribute to healthier waterways and platypus habitat

No experience needed β€” all tools, training, and guidance are provided.

If your organisation is looking to support local biodiversity and strengthen its ESG and sustainability goals, we’d love to connect. Contact us at [email protected]

Dirt on the road isn’t just messy - in some cases, it’s illegal.

We recently fined waste management company Benedict Recycling Pty Ltd after trucks leaving its southwest Sydney facility tracked dirt and sediment offsite, creating dust and water pollution issues.

The incident breached the conditions of the facility’s Environment Protection Licence and could have been prevented if pollution controls, such as wheel washing equipment, were adequately maintained and operating properly.

It might not seem like a big deal, but it can be. When harmful dirt and sediment from waste facilities enter stormwater drains, the material can be washed into local waterways and cause harm to vulnerable aquatic ecosystems.

If you see pollution, report it, and help us protect our communities and the environment: [email protected]
