Choosing handcrafted, locally made pieces isn't just about finding something unique, it’s a vote more sustainable way of living.

By supporting local makers, we cut down on shipping footprints and choose quality items built to be loved for a lifetime, not a season.

Today (and every day), let’s tread a little lighter. What’s one small eco-habit you can practice this week? 👇

🌿 Featured: compostible Eco Cloths, made from plant fibres; salvaged_by_stix repurposed timber chopping boards; Notebooks made from book publishing cut-offs and repurposed fabrics from littlebitbooksau; and of course our Space2b range, made in Melbourne from re-purposed fabrics, by our volunteers and trainees.

🧵Sew with me 🪡

What a colourful sewing session with some incredible women from Afghanistan and Iran 💛
We learnt so much together, especially through the sharing of their incredible sewing knowledge and skills.

Together we practised sewing our names, learnt English words like thread, needle, scissors and sew, explored colours and their names, shared conversations, lots of laughter — and even sang together! 🎶🧵
These sessions are about so much more than sewing. They’re about connection, confidence, learning and creating a welcoming space where women can come together and support one another.
Such a joyful day at Foundation House ✨
