C Care is a leading front-line community organisation supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity and social isolation. Accelerated by a rapid growth in demand over the COVID-19 Pandemic, we now provide a full range of personalised services which are tailored to the unique needs of our recipients. C Care’s bespoke service offerings provide entry level, culturally appropriate and easy to access resources for vulnerable members of our community, which are created and delivered by our predominantly volunteer workforce. We focus equally on fulfilling our recipient’s needs, as well as creating a strong sense of community for all stakeholders.

This National Nutrition Week, we’re celebrating everything it takes to nourish our community!

Every year, C Care serves up 120,000 nutritious meals, distributes 208 tonnes of fresh fruit and veg, packs 60 pantry boxes of staples every week and prepares delicious Shabbas packs.

But nourishment is about more than what’s on the plate. It’s chopping, packing and laughing alongside friends. It’s challah, culture and coming together

What a way to celebrate Sukkot - C Care style! 🌿

The rain had other plans, so we brought the party undercover. Good food, great company and plenty of laughs made for an afternoon that felt like one big family get-together.

A huge thank you to everyone who pitched in to make it happen. This is what community looks like. We hope everyone had a meaningful Sukkot.

Hot off the press and passed from hand to hand, our FY26 Impact Report is officially here. Inside you'll find the people behind a remarkable year: the 5am Wednesday market runs, a simcha that supported five families for three months, corporate teams in the kitchen, and nearly 120,000 meals served from our new hub at 16 Pakington Street.

And we're only just getting started!

Here is our September ‘26 Wrap Up:

- The C Care Community Club team continued to host a series of peer support sessions for our Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Aged Care Volunteer Visitors (ACVVS).
- Thank you to the team from EY Australia for joining us for a corporate volunteering session, helping to pack orders at our hub in the lead up to Rosh Hashanah.
- We welcomed the boys from Yesodei HaTorah back for their weekly volunteering session at C Care.
- The King David School continue to join us each Wednesday as part of their six-week work experience program and are a huge asset to the C Care team.
- C Care attended a valuable afternoon with the Clare O'Neil and Tanya Plibersek MP, Minister for Social Services, discussing the challenges facing our communities and opportunities to better support those in need. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this important conversation.
- The C Care team was invited to the Fink Karp & Ivany campus at Mount Scopus Memorial College for their Seed to Table Kitchen Garden Program, hosted by Year 3 students.
- Thank you to Rebecca Hoffman for celebrating her birthday at C Care with a private Tuesday morning session for 9 friends and family.
- Scott Winton Insurance joined us in the corporate kitchen for a MasterChef-style cooking competition.
- Thank you to the Hon Julian Hill MP and Josh Burns for visiting C Care.
- marshmallowsbyrachel continued to whip up delicious marshmallow treats in the C Care Corporate Kitchen, spreading sweetness and smiles in our community.
- C Care Hosted two Gen26 pop-up session ensuring our community has access to this important project.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time at our hub over the High Holidays. We can’t wait for another month of serving our community together.

What an afternoon! Our Sukkot School Holiday Program brought 24 bright and bubbly kids through our hub. They made decorations for their own Sukkah’s, then handmade delicious shortbread jam button cookies in the C Care kitchen.

The kids also got a real taste of what we do her; nourishing people and bringing community together. They left proud, a little sticky and full of Sukkot spirit.

Thank you to all the families who joined us and to our wonderful team.

When people see the work up close, they understand why it matters.

Last week we welcomed the Julian Hill MP and Josh Burns to C Care to share the real and growing impact we’re having on food security in our community: the families we feed, the volunteers who show up, and the space that will help us do so much more.

Meet the Volunteer Series - Aitan Schmidg, the smiling heartbeat of our hub!

Having retired two years ago and looking to inject more meaning, Aitan found C Care through a friend's tip-off, and has been part of the furniture ever since. His main volunteer work revolves around his presence throughout market dispatch on Thursdays and Fridays, plus the occasional appearance in kitchen HQ elbow-deep in challah dough. Spend five minutes with Aitan and you will walk away laughing, a story richer, and somehow lighter than when you arrived. That's the gift he gives our volunteers, our staff, and everyone who walks through our doors for food and connection.

Thank you, Aitan, for the hours, the humour, and the heart you bring to C Care. Our community feels more nourished, more dignified, and more connected because of people like you.

Here is our Rosh Hashanah Wrap Up ‘26:

- Thank you to Chevra Honey and supporters for donating 400 jars of honey to C Care, which went into our Rosh Hashanah bags - an ongoing supporter of this chag every year, and we are so grateful.
- Thanks to HoneyCake Foundation, C Care made and distributed 1,065 honey cakes this Rosh Hashanah, which were included in our Rosh Hashanah bags for our community.
- C Care made and distributed: 1,700 ginger and honey cookies, 762 Rosh Hashanah gift bags, and 1,171 Rosh Hashanah meals to our community, plus 5,008 units of key Yom Tov food items — totalling approximately 4.2 tonnes.
We were lucky to partner with Bialik College, Leibler Yavneh College, Ohel Chana Seminary Mount Scopus Memorial College and Sholem Aleichem College for this year’s C Care honey drive collection initiative.
- Well done to Menachem Aron and the rest of the chabadofrara team for making and distributing an additional 400 honey cakes to Jewish people living in rural and regional communities.
- Thank you to our Emmy Monash residents for making apple crumble cakes with Year 9 students from Mount Scopus Memorial College.
- Thank you to our 192+ volunteers who came through our doors in the week leading up to Rosh Hashanah to help complete activities across both the Hub and Dispatch, from packing honey cookies to packing orders to greeting customers.
- In partnership with MJCF, we fulfilled 192 Tishrei Shop online orders, helping families prepare for Yom Tov while saving an estimated $40,000 compared to retail prices.

Year in, year out, we are astonished and proud of the community we’ve built, coming together during all festive seasons. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this wonderful result.
