Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance

Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance The Jobs and Skills Council for the manufacturing industry.

The Manufacturing Industry Skills Alliance (Manufacturing Alliance) is the Jobs and Skills Council for the manufacturing industry. It is an industry owned and industry led organisation at the forefront of supporting the development of skilled workforces that enable modern manufacturing and associated industries to succeed. We work with stakeholders across Australia including employers, unions, edu

cators, learners and governments to build a skilled workforce for now and for the future. Our predecessor, IBSA Group, was part of the vocational education and training sector for 20 years including being a Skills Service Organisation for the manufacturing industry. The headquarters of the Manufacturing Alliance are in Melbourne and our team is based throughout Australia. Our CEO, Sharon Robertson, recently joined Manufacturing Tech Australia to unpack how collaboration with industry, unions, and government is key to closing the skills gap and building a stronger future for Australian Manufacturing.

She also addresses one of the industryโ€™s biggest hurdles: outdated perceptions.

As hosts Shane Williams and Paul Mason note, many Australians still donโ€™t fully understand what manufacturing is. Sharon shares how the Manufacturing Alliance is working to change the narrative and get young people and their families excited about todayโ€™s manufacturing industry.
