Lila* came in looking for boots - after travelling over from Adelaide she had nothing left for the basics. While trying on a pair she commented “I don’t know why he gets mad at me about it now, he was fine with the s*x work when I was giving him money. Now I’ve stopped, he’s always telling me how dirty I am…” Lila was tired, sad, and said she was too lonely to walk away from the man she’d been travelling with. She remembered Drop In though. A place where she was treated with dignity, a place that was safe. That day Lila left with a fresh toothbrush - a little symbol that she is worthy of care.
