Annie’s Court recently held an indoor shopping market, inviting local stallholders to set up shop for our residents to enjoy a fun shopping experience in the comfort of their own home.

Our Men’s Shed group got involved too, selling toys they had made and painted themselves. Half the toys had found new homes by the end of the afternoon, while residents enjoyed browsing the stalls and choosing goodies for themselves and their loved ones.

It was a great afternoon and a lovely reminder of the warm, connected community at Annie’s Court.

Yellow was the colour of the day at Noel Miller Centre as residents and staff marked Daffodil Day in support of Cancer Council Australia.

Dressed in their brightest yellow, everyone enjoyed a high tea and the opportunity to come together in recognition of the many people and families whose lives have been touched by cancer.

It was a lovely afternoon spent together, showing support, sharing stories and raising awareness for an important cause.

Earlier this week, Rositano House celebrated Indonesian Independence Day with a wonderful afternoon of shared traditions!

Residents and staff dressed in traditional clothing, enjoyed Indonesian food along with singing and dancing, and put their knowledge to the test with trivia and quizzes.

It was a lovely way to share Indonesian culture with one another, learn something new and enjoy time together as a community.

Our vibrant lifestyle program means there's always something fun to look forward to!

Recently, John Atchison Centre welcomed local kinder children for their intergenerational program. Residents and children enjoyed activities together, with Abi's bubble gun proving a big hit! For some residents, the visit also brought back fond memories of their own children.

Another highlight was their pyjama party, where everyone arrived in their cosiest attire and enjoyed a day that was both fun and relaxing.

Some of life's most special moments are made even better when they're shared with a supportive community.

Last week, the Noel Miller Centre team celebrated Clinical Care Coordinator Bilja as she prepares to welcome a new addition to her family.

Over the past three years, Bilja has become a valued part of our aged care home in Glen Iris, so it was wonderful to see her colleagues gather to mark this special milestone and share in the excitement of what's ahead.

Congratulations, Bilja. We wish you and your family every happiness as you begin this exciting new chapter!

A bouquet of flowers. A shared love of woodworking. Some favourite music and a good conversation.

For Ahmad, Lilliana and Olivia, these simple moments have grown into friendships with older people in their community through the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS).

Ahmad and Robin catch up over coffee and stories. Olivia paints Kathleen’s nails while they chat about life. And Lilliana and Bruce spend their visits listening to music and “solving the world’s problems”.

This National Youth Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating the young people who give their time, build connections and become part of someone else’s week – while discovering something for themselves along the way.

There’s something special about spending time in nature, and at Park Hill in Mornington, it’s becoming part of everyday life.

Recently, our residents came together for a tree planting event, adding new life to the gardens and creating spaces to enjoy for years to come.

Our Nature and Sensory Program also gives residents opportunities to connect with nature through gardening, plants, sounds and the changing seasons.
