⛵ **Game On, Girls – Round 2 Now Open!** 💪

Another great initiative from the **Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (DCITS)**, supporting greater participation and opportunities for young women in sport!

The **second round of the Game On, Girls Grant Program** is now open, offering grants of **$1,500 to $5,000** to eligible sporting clubs across Western Australia.

The program aims to increase participation, retention and engagement of girls aged 13–17 by helping clubs create inclusive, welcoming and supportive sporting environments.

💡 **This is a fantastic opportunity for sailing clubs** to develop new initiatives, strengthen existing programs and encourage more young women to get involved and stay engaged in sailing.

💰 **Funding available:** $1,500–$5,000

📅 **Applications close:** Monday 16 November 2026 at 4:00pm AWST

The volunteer club can now run Australian Sailing Dinghy and Powerboat Courses this includes -

The volunteers are freshly accredited and ready to GO!

🫶⛵Australian Sailing WA have been out and about!!

💙 The beautiful Esperance Bay Yacht Club has seen a pre-season Tackers Course completed with 15 new young ones start their sailing journey! 👏

🌊Senior Instructor Carl Watts travelled to EBYC for a week of teaching the Tackers Course, mentoring new Dinghy Instructors and then accrediting 4 Dinghy Instructors and 2 Dinghy Assistant Instructors.

The annual Discover Sailing Centre review was also completed in what was an exceptional trip and we thank the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport for supporting opportunities like these. This support helps regional clubs grow participation, develop and retain volunteers, and build the skills and qualifications needed to deliver more sailing courses throughout the season.

⛵ Australian Sailing WA have been out and about!

The team from Australian Sailing WA had a fabulous time over the weekend training the volunteers from Denmark Sailing Club Western Australia. Friday saw 6 participants achieve their Safety Boat Operator qualifications.
The Dinghy Instructor and Dinghy Assistant Instructor Courses then ran over the weekend. Denmark Sailing Club now has 3 new Dinghy Instructors and 2 new Dinghy Assistant Instructors, plus a newly accredited Sailing Coach!

As Denmark Sailing Club Western Australia has now become WA's latest Discover Sailing Centre we look forward to seeing Tackers Courses, OutThere Sailing and Start Sailing Courses running in the near future!

Thank you for the generous support from Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, with the financial assistance from the Regional Services Grant these courses are able to help small clubs grow their capacity and increase participation in sailing!
