This was too good not to share, Trefoil is all the good bits of guiding but doing it for ourselves as adults!! 18yrs and up!

šŸ˜‚ A Quick Guide to Guiding at Any Age šŸ˜‚

Some people think Guiding is something you do when you’re young.

But anyone who’s been around for a while knows that’s… not quite how it works.

Because Guiding has a strange habit of following you through life.

It usually starts something like this:

🌈 Age 5–10
You come for the games.
You stay for the crafts.
You accidentally learn loads of skills.

🧭 Teen years
You realise you can lead games, help younger members and do some pretty amazing things.

šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø Adult leader stage
You suddenly own a suspicious amount of craft supplies.
You can organise 20 children, three activities and a biscuit break with military precision.

You also regularly find things in your pockets when you get home such as:
• glue lids
• string
• random beads
• half a sticker sheet

✨ Later in life
You discover you still love the laughter, the friendships and the slightly chaotic fun.

So you stay involved through things like Trefoil Guild.

Because the truth is…

Guiding isn’t really something you grow out of.

It’s more something that quietly becomes part of who you are.

Also…

Once you’ve learned the correct way to toast a marshmallow, that knowledge is basically for life.

So yes - you absolutely can be involved in Guiding at any age.

Fair warning though:

You may develop strong opinions about biscuits, crafts, and the correct volume for campfire songs. šŸ’™

*2026 Diggers race** Hot off the press from Sharon and her team who didn’t have much wind at the start… just bobbing around for an hour.
ā€œWe snuck around the first mark in front (just) and stayed with the leaders. Spinnaker was great on the second leg.
Last leg… tried to gybe the spinnaker, wind gusted and we completely messed it up with our first ever wine glass.
Came in 3rd, ending our 4-year winning run for our 80-year-old digger Barrie (who was off marching for Anzac Day).
Still really proud of the crew. Short-handed, a few rookies, and we didn’t give up even when it looked like we’d never finish.ā€ Well done Sharon, Never give up! ā˜˜ļø
