Perthโ€™s four major wildlife hospitals are pleased to announce that our 2026 wildlife
rehabilitation training is now open for bookings!โ

This comprehensive two-day course introduces you to the foundational skills needed
to care for injured, sick, orphaned and displaced native birds, mammals and reptiles
in an offsite care setting. Learn about the legal and ethical framework that protects
native animal health, welfare and ecology and hear from experienced wildlife
rehabilitators about the complexities, challenges and rewards of wildlife
rehabilitation.

We particularly encourage people living in peri-urban, rural or remote areas - where
wildlife rehabilitation services are more difficult to access โ€“ to attend.

Western Australia: a joint collaboration between Kanyana Wildlife, WA Wildlife,
Darling Range Wildlife and Perth Wildlife Hospital.

To practice as a wildlife rehabilitator after the course, participants will need to apply
for a license with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, follow the Code of Practice for Wildlife Rehabilitation in Western Australia and align with an established wildlife group, for ongoing mentoring and support.โ

Did you know that Perth Wildlife Hospital is not only a registered wildlife hospital but also a registered Black Cockatoo rehabilitation centre?

Located just 10km from the Perth CBD, located north of the river in Malaga, we see thousands of wildlife patients a year, including hundreds of black cockatoos.

We are dedicated to providing expert treatment and care for sick, orphaned, and displaced native animals, with the goal of successful rehabilitation and release, and contributing to the development of long-term conservation strategies across Western Australia.

This is beautiful Jurien.

She had severe internal bleeding and it has taken 4 weeks for the internal injury and keel injury to resolve. She's been flying well outside and passed her final assessment.

She was recently was driven driven back up to Jurien to rejoin her flock. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿชถ A true testament to our amazing Black Cockatoo team and vet team for providing her the best of care to prepare her to be released back into the wild.

If you'd like to donate to Black Cockatoo Conservation every dollar counts! We are so grateful for every dollar received

When Ravi from Feathered Friends was last in the hospital our Black Cockatoo manager Lizzi was called out to a rescue for a Carnaby's Cockatoo that was injured by a dog attack. You've probably seen a few updates about Sorrento, this is where her journey started in Recovery room 5.

She is now in the final stage of her recovery journey before she is ready to be released back into the wild.

This video shows just how many patients we can have in a very short period of time. This night alone we had 2 late Black Cockatoo admissions.

Each patient needing specialised care during their time in the hospital.

Please help us continue to care for Black Cockatoos by donating to our fundraiser: https://www.mycause.com.au/events/thegreatblackcockatoorelease
