Access Hope Inc

Access Hope Inc Access Hope Inc was inspired by the children in the Kipsongo Slum, Kenya. Kipsongo means “place of the dogs”. All the children in the slum are in desperate need.

Founded in December 2010 by Linda Gouldsmith the Founder and CEO of Access Hope, Linda is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those who are desperately under privileged and cannot help themselves. Around 4000 children and adults live as squatters on 5 acres of land in the Kipsongo Slum. They come from Turkana and Pokot tribes

of Northern Kenya. They have been misplaced due to drought, disease and tribal clashes. As Linda walked into the slum in May 2011 she was deeply moved as she was greeted by 3 raggy dressed, dirty, runny nosed children who walked straight up to her and took her by the hand. As she watched little Evans sitting on the ground eating his small bowl of beans and maize with only a t-shirt and one Ugg Boot on, Linda was deeply moved and inspired to do something to help these poor little ones. On the 1st August 2011, we were able to place 20 of the neediest children into Kwetu Nyumbani ‘our home’ for the children of Kipsongo. It’s a safe haven which they can call home! They are loved and cared for, clothed, fed and go to school. We hope our page will inspire you and others to join us in changing the lives of the next generation of Kenyan children.

📸 A wonderful time of fellowship with our friends at Badgingarra Family Worship Church.

Recently, Linda had the privilege of visiting one of Access Hope’s valued sponsoring churches, Badgingarra Family Worship Church. During her visit, she shared an update on the ministry through a PowerPoint presentation, giving insight into the lives being impacted through the children’s home, community programs and ongoing projects in Kenya. She also had the opportunity to bring a message and encourage the congregation.

We are incredibly grateful for churches like Badgingarra Family Worship Church whose faithful prayers, generosity and partnership help make this work possible. Together, we are bringing hope, sharing God’s love and helping transform lives across Kenya. ❤️

Thank you for standing with us on this journey.

📸 Behind every mission is a team of faithful people serving in different ways.

Meet two of our amazing volunteers, Shreyas (Sam), who looks after our IT needs, and Marijke, who leads our dedicated prayer team. While their roles are very different, both play a vital part in helping Access Hope continue its work in Kenya and beyond.

From keeping our technology running smoothly to faithfully covering the ministry, our children, staff, sponsors and supporters in prayer, their commitment makes a real difference. We are so grateful for the many volunteers who generously give their time, skills and hearts to see lives transformed. ❤️

Want to be part of the Access Hope family? We’d love to hear from you.

📸 Strong women, lasting impact.

Linda enjoyed catching up with Margie and Edna, the inspiring women who founded Kingdomsons in Kenya, located not far from our children’s home in Kitale. Their years of faithful service, leadership, and commitment to transforming lives have made a lasting difference in their community.

It’s always encouraging to connect with women who have dedicated themselves to God’s work and to seeing hope, opportunity, and dignity restored to others. Together, organisations like Kingdomsons and Access Hope are part of a bigger story of communities being strengthened and lives being changed across Kenya. ❤️🇰🇪

A little behind-the-scenes look 👀✨

Linda, our CEO, working from the office she currently shares with James, our Home Director 🤍 Right now, this space is actually a future bedroom in the boys’ dormitory!

As Access Hope continues to grow, we’re believing God for an administration block in the future 🙏🏽🏡 Every step forward is because of His provision and the incredible support of our community.

Thank you for being part of the journey with us 💛

More progress at Hope Village House ✨

The stairs are now going in, leading up to the alfresco area where future teams and volunteers will be able to rest, connect, and unwind after busy days spent serving in ministry and with the children.

It’s so special watching this space slowly come to life — not just as accommodation, but as a place of community, encouragement, and shared moments. We can already picture teams sitting together here in the evenings, sharing meals, stories, prayer, and reflecting on all God is doing in Kenya 💛

Thank you to everyone continuing to support and journey with us as this project grows step by step.

One of our local business friends in Kitale Town has been hard at work making the mirrored windows for our guesthouse accommodation ✨

Over the years, we’ve been so blessed by the support of local businesses in our community. Some visit the children, some offer discounts, some bring little treats like biscuits and lollies, and others support our children’s home in practical behind-the-scenes ways like this.

We’re incredibly grateful for the people who continue to come alongside us and help make a difference in the lives of our children 💛

While Glen was visiting, he spent time teaching our staff and children how to make hot cross buns, and also introduced them to some Indian and Chinese-style cooking 🍚✨

Pictured here is one of the Chinese dishes served with rice. For many of the children, it was their first time trying these flavours and styles of food — and they absolutely loved the experience.

It’s always so special seeing new skills, cultures, and experiences shared around the table 💛

Our CEO, Linda, recently had the chance to visit Joel at boarding school 💛

Joel was living on the streets at just 5 years old before a kind couple, David and Bildred, welcomed him into their home and family. A few years later, Joel came to live with us at our children’s home, where we’ve had the privilege of watching him grow into the lovely, creative young boy he is today.

Moments like these remind us how life-changing love, safety, and opportunity can be.

If you’d like to be part of stories like Joel’s, send us a message to learn more about supporting the children at Access Hope.

✨ We’re looking for someone to join the Access Hope storytelling team! ✨

Do you have a heart for ministry, people, and sharing stories that matter?

This role is about more than social media — it’s about helping connect people to the lives being impacted through Access Hope and the work God is doing through our ministry.

We’re looking for someone creative, warm, and reliable to help with:
🤍 Facebook & Instagram content
🤍 Writing captions and updates
🤍 Sharing stories from Kenya and beyond
🤍 Supporting campaigns, events, and ministry communication

Experience with social media or Canva is helpful, but a heart for the mission is most important. 💙💚

Flexible volunteer role | Remote-friendly possible

If you’d love to be part of helping share hope, faith, and transformation, we’d love to hear from you. ✨
