Access Hope Inc was inspired by the children in the Kipsongo Slum, Kenya. Kipsongo means “place of the dogs”. All the children in the slum are in desperate need.

Founded in December 2010 by Linda Gouldsmith the Founder and CEO of Access Hope, Linda is passionate about making a difference in the lives of those who are desperately under privileged and cannot help themselves. Around 4000 children and adults live as squatters on 5 acres of land in the Kipsongo Slum. They come from Turkana and Pokot tribes of Northern Kenya. They have been misplaced due to drought, disease and tribal clashes. As Linda walked into the slum in May 2011 she was deeply moved as she was greeted by 3 raggy dressed, dirty, runny nosed children who walked straight up to her and took her by the hand. As she watched little Evans sitting on the ground eating his small bowl of beans and maize with only a t-shirt and one Ugg Boot on, Linda was deeply moved and inspired to do something to help these poor little ones. On the 1st August 2011, we were able to place 20 of the neediest children into Kwetu Nyumbani ‘our home’ for the children of Kipsongo. It’s a safe haven which they can call home! They are loved and cared for, clothed, fed and go to school. We hope our page will inspire you and others to join us in changing the lives of the next generation of Kenyan children.

There’s something truly beautiful about seeing children express themselves through music, filling the room with sweet melodies, laughter, and happiness. Every song is an opportunity to learn, grow, and build confidence. Moments like these remind us that love, encouragement, and a little music can make childhood even more beautiful! 🥰🎵💛

Meet our amazing team! ❤️🙏

Here I am with 10 of our dedicated staff members (caregivers), with Regina missing from the photo.

Since this photo was taken, Regina has joined the team, and we look forward to welcoming two more team members in the next couple of months — a Kindergarten teacher and a second Night Watchman.

By the end of the year, we expect to have a team of 14 dedicated staff members, all working together to provide the care, love, protection, and support our children need to thrive. ❤️

Every additional team member strengthens our mission and helps us create a safer, more nurturing environment for every child.

Together, we are making a difference, one child at a time! 🙏❤️

What a powerful and life-changing message on “ETERNITY”! 🙏✨

C.E.O. Linda’s husband delivered a wonderful message at Elim Pentecostal Church, reminding us of the importance of eternity and the need to live our lives with heaven in mind. James did an excellent job interpreting the message, ensuring that the Word reached and touched more hearts.

We are grateful for the powerful preaching, faithful interpretation, and the reminder that our lives here on earth are temporary, but eternity is forever. ❤️🙌

May we all live with eternity in our hearts and Christ at the centre of everything we do!

Time flies, and watching our children grow is one of life’s greatest blessings. In this photo, Smith was learning how to drive, and today, he proudly has his driving licence! 🎉 What a beautiful milestone and a reminder of how quickly our children grow, learn, and become independent.

Gyani and Briton enjoying some special cuddle time with one of our beloved cats! 🥰 The children absolutely adore all the animals at our home, and it’s heartwarming to see the love, gentleness, and joy they share with their furry friends.

Our cats have their own little adventures too! 😹 Every now and then, they try to sneak into the kitchen to enjoy the warmth of the cookers, but they are quickly escorted out when caught! 😂❤️

Life at home is full of these beautiful little moments that make us smile and remind us that love comes in all shapes, sizes, and even with four paws! 🐾💕

Plumbing may not be the easiest job, but our amazing team is doing a fantastic job at the Access Hope House (Residence)! 🏡👏 Every pipe fitted and every step completed brings us closer to creating a comfortable and welcoming home. ❤️

💕 A Gift from the Heart! 💕

A beautiful moment with Evelyn, the mum of one of our CBC children. ❤️ During my recent visit, I was delighted to gift her a lovely silk scarf that had been given to me by my mum. It was so heartwarming to see Evelyn put it on immediately, wearing it with such joy and appreciation. 🧣💝

Sometimes, the simplest gifts carry the deepest meaning, connecting hearts and spreading love across generations. So grateful for these special moments and the beautiful relationships we continue to build! 🥰✨
