World Elder Abuse Awareness Day β 15 June
Today, we stand together to raise awareness of elder abuse and reaffirm every older personβs right to live with dignity, respect, safety, and independence.
Elder abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, financial, sexual abuse, neglect, and social isolation. It often occurs at the hands of someone known and trusted by the older person.
At Elizabeth Morgan House, we recognise the importance of creating safe communities where Elders are valued, heard, and protected. Our Elders hold knowledge, culture, strength, and wisdom that enrich our families and communities.
If you or someone you know may be experiencing elder abuse, support is available.
Together, we can help ensure all older people are treated with the respect and care they deserve.
π Respect our Elders. Listen to our Elders. Protect our Elders.
