Are you a young person living in the ACT? You are invited to participate in an important survey concerning the review of hate crime and vilification laws by the ACT Government. This review aims to explore options for improving laws to better protect the community. As a young person, your perspective is essential in shaping the future of these laws and your community. The survey will cover your experiences, your opinions and ideas on how these laws can better protect marginalised voices in the community. Complete the short survey via link below. Closes Friday 20 March.

We are running this survey to make sure young people’s voices help shape future policy, research, and services for multicultural youth.

It takes just 5–7 minutes (37 Q)to complete, and every response counts.

The new social media minimum age law is now in effect, meaning many social platforms are required to block or deactivate accounts for under-16s. These changes aim to keep under 16s safer online and support young people’s wellbeing.

If you’re supporting a young person through this change, MYAN’s webpage has resources, guidance and information to help you stay informed and connected.

While in Melbourne today, I had the privilege to meet with the Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network Australia.

The Multicultural Youth Advocacy Network Australia (MYAN) is the national peak body representing the rights and interests of multicultural young people.

I had the chance to briefly meet with some of the young leaders from MYAN in Canberra recently, where they held their biennial national youth leadership summit.

The summit aimed to empower young people to build meaningful relationships, engage in advocacy, and become changemakers in their own communities.

I was incredibly impressed by the insight and thought put into a range of policy proposals.

Thanks for everything that you do!
