Connection, culture and confidence can make all the difference in how people engage with employment. 🎯

In Bowen*, First Nations participants in the ‘Moving the Mob’ program came together on Juru Country to build skills, share stories and support one another on their path towards employment.

Through hands‑on learning, cultural connection and real conversations about work and life, participants gained confidence and a clearer sense of what’s next. 💫

Moving the Mob is more than a skill development program – it’s about bringing people together and creating pathways that feel real and achievable.

In Murray Bridge (SA)*, participants in the “Paving the Way” program, as part of the Work for the Dole project, are building skills and confidence while contributing to their local community. 🤩

Through hands‑on experience, they’re developing practical skills in construction and landscaping while helping create a safer, more accessible space for the community to enjoy. 💫

At today’s National Press Club address, CEO Bruno Bonnacurso was in attendance as The Hon Amanda Rishworth MP outlined proposed reforms to Australia’s employment services system.

We look forward to and welcome the opportunity to continue to work closely with the Department and industry to help shape the future of employment services.

There is strong support for more tailored, person, centred support and intervention, consistently delivering improved outcomes as individuals build the skills, confidence and pathways to sustainable employment.

These reforms represent an important progression in the employment services system, building on existing strengths to better respond to the needs of job seekers and employers.

After 14 years as Group CEO of IntoWork, Poul Bottern has recently tendered his resignation, effective from the end of June this year, as he pursues other business interests.

The Board of IntoWork would like to acknowledge and thank Poul for his visionary leadership and unwavering dedication, expertise and strategic guidance over the past 14 years, building IntoWork into the large, respected and leading provider in the sector it is today.

Given Poul’s focus over the coming weeks to ensure an effective handover including working with our Boards on governance matters, we have appointed Christine Zechowski as Acting Group CEO, whilst we recruit for an ongoing Group CEO. Christine has been with IntoWork for many years, including as Group Chief Commercial Officer. She is joined by a strong Executive team and experienced CEOs, so IntoWork is in good hands.

In communicating with Staff, Poul noted: It has been a pleasure and privilege to lead IntoWork with the Board and Leadership Team. My highlights have been many, from our growth of 125 to 2,600 skilled staff, expansion across Australia and New Zealand, and increasing services for the most marginalised and disadvantaged members of our community. However, the largest highlight for me has been the pleasure of working with the fantastic group of people within IntoWork as well as our business partners and the broader sectors we engage with!

We thank Poul for his significant contribution and wish him and his family the very best for the future.
