Last week, we shared a very special Tuesday Lunch at ISV as we celebrated the birthday of Christianne Etheve-Scanlon, a valued member of the ISV Committee Board who has dedicated decades of care, passion, and service to our community. ️

For many years, Christianne has lovingly led our Tuesday Lunch gatherings and has been the heart of the kitchen as our wonderful chef. Her dedication goes far beyond preparing meals, she has helped create a warm space where Irish people can come together, share stories, friendship, laughter, and feel a sense of home away from home.

At ISV, Tuesday Lunch is about much more than food. It is about connection, community, and keeping the Irish spirit alive through the simple traditions of sharing tea, conversation, and caring for one another.

We are incredibly grateful to Christianne for the kindness and warmth she continues to bring to our community.

Everyone is welcome to join our weekly Tuesday Lunch gatherings every Tuesday from 11am, we would love to see you!

A heartfelt go raibh míle maith agat to An Pobail at the Antique Bar in Elsternwick for their incredibly generous donation and ongoing support.

An Pobail is a beautiful celebration of Irish storytelling culture, where stories, music and poetry come together to connect people and community. Held on the last Thursday of every month, it’s a special space that keeps tradition alive while creating something new and meaningful here in Melbourne.

We’re so grateful to be part of a community that values connection, culture and storytelling in such a genuine way.

If you haven’t experienced it yet, we highly recommend it. You can find out more here: https://www.instagram.com/anpobail/

Today marks an important milestone for us at what has long been affectionately known as “the bureau.” We have farewelled our former name, IASRB (Irish Australian Support and Resource Bureau), and are proud to introduce our new identity as Irish Support Victoria (ISV). Alongside this change, we have launched our new website at www.irishsupportvictoria.org.au

Rebranding is never a simple process, particularly for a members based organisation with such a strong legacy in the community. This new chapter represents both a continuation of our purpose and a step forward in how we connect with our community.

As a not for profit organisation, we are deeply grateful for the generosity and dedication of our volunteers. This rebrand was made possible through the exceptional work and goodwill of Sean McCaul from Citizen By Design. Sean’s professionalism, creativity and generosity have been, quite simply, invaluable. We're sincerely grateful for the time and expertise he has so kindly donated to us. Thank you Sean.

Now the fun begins!
