🌽✨The winner is…. the Elote Corn Shaker Cup! 💃

Congratulations DS Kids Hub Outside School Hours Care at Noble Park Primary School, supported by Monash Health.

Easy. Affordable. Feel-good food.

🍽️✨ Elote Corn Shaker Cup, serving 20 hungry kids!

Ingredients:

- 1 kg corn kernels
- 2 large capsicums
- 1 bunch fresh coriander
- 2 cups reduced fat Greek yoghurt
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 tsp paprika
- Optional: feta cheese, crumbled

The beauty of this recipe is how adaptable it is – use produce from your veggie garden, or whatever you have on hand!

Steps:

• Chop capsicum and coriander
• Mix yoghurt, lemon juice and paprika
• Put prepared corn and feta in small bowls
• Spoon corn, capsicum, coriander, feta and yoghurt sauce into jar (or bowl)
• Shake it up (or stir in bowl)

Now eat and enjoy! 😋

Vic Kids Eat Well enjoyed all of Little Food Festival's foodie fun at Fed Square over the school holidays🥕🌽

⭐️ A huge shout out to DS Kids Hub, an Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service at Noble Park Primary School, winners of the Vic Kids Eat Well x Little Food Festival “Feel Good Food” competition. This state-wide search uncovered Victoria’s favourite feel‑good food for kids. Their colourful winning dish, the Elote Corn Shaker Cup, wowed the crowd 🌽✨

👩‍🍳👦 On the day, a brilliant group of volunteer kids joined the Vic Kids Eat Well team and Fruit Nerd Thanh to prepare the nutritious and practical winning recipe live on stage 🙌

🌱 Next up, Vic Kids Eat Well hit the festival on tour with Costa Georgiadis Official celebrating the joy of colourful and nutritious fruit, veggies and gardens. We loved visiting National Nutrition Foundation, Veggies First_es, and A better choice! 🍎🥬🌻

💚 It was fantastic to see the public health and food sectors come together in front of thousands of children, young people and families.

🥗 From in‑season, veggie‑packed canteen meals 👉 to local produce for learning breaks 👉 or simple additions like cut fruit for half‑time sports snacks 🍊– the festival showcased practical ideas for nutritious food environments.

Small steps lead to big flavours at Kyneton Primary School!

Kyneton Primary School is showing how little changes can spark a whole lot of excitement in the canteen. With support from Vic Kids Eat Well and Health Promoter Kylie Stafford from Omnia Community Health, canteen manager Sarah Lockhart has teamed up with students to create tasty, veggie‑packed menu options the whole school is loving.

From veggie-filled pasta bolognese to homemade baked beans and seasonal soups, the canteen is becoming a place for food, connection and fun.

Students play a huge role in shaping the menu too. They drop ideas into the suggestion box, name new items and even share recipes from home.

“Students want to feel included and like they’re part of the process. When it is their idea, they’re more likely to try something new,” Sarah said.

👏 Huge shoutout to Sarah, Kylie and the Kyneton Primary School community for leading the way!

🌟 Monthly member highlight: Yarram Secondary College! 🌟

Fruit and veg are taking centre stage at Yarram Secondary College and we’re loving it!

The canteen team has introduced more fruit and veg based snacks, using fresh produce straight from their kitchen garden. Options like zucchini slices, mini apple and pear muffins and vegetable soup have been big favourites with students.

Fresh fruit and fruit cups are also available in the canteen for students to grab for free, giving everyone easy access to a nutritious bite. Any extra garden produce is frozen for future meals or used in classes as part of their Paddock2plate program, helping the school make the most of every harvest.

👏 Well done, Yarram Secondary College. We’re celebrating all the great steps you’re taking!
