$6000 milestone for Toothbrush+ exceeded! ๐ชฅ
Our Toothbrush+ initiative has the ambitious aim to provide Community Support Centres in Frankston and on the Peninsula with a sustainable supply of hygiene products, which are redistributed to low-income and homeless community members.
How do we do this?
Primarily through local community partners, such as pharmacies and dental practices:
๐งดIn pharmacies, we have organised donation boxes where customers can purchase and put hygiene products into. Once a box is full, our team collects the products, counts and logs them, and allocates them to a Community Support Centre based on that centre's current needs. When we have a sizeable number of donations collected, we deliver the products to the centre, where they are redistributed to vulnerable community members.
๐ฆทIn dental practices, the clinics give us regular donations of extra toothpaste samples, and sometimes toothbrushes. These products then undergo the same process as above, and also end up in the hands of people doing it tough in Frankston and on the Peninsula.
As the number of our community partners grows, so do donation number and impact. So here is a big thank you to some local businesses who are working with us to support our communities: ๐ช
