Eeeek! Surely we can do better at events in our national parks!!! 😬
A community member sent us this photo taken at the
Craft Markets held at Point Nepean National Park on the Mornington Peninsula.
We’d love to see the Victorian state government lead by example by mandating reusables at all events on public land.
The Mornington Peninsula Shire has recently launched a fabulous reuse trailer — perfect for these types of events. Let’s connect the dots 🤗
So many exciting examples around the country (and the world) where events have completely eliminated waste by joining the reuse revolution.
Good for the environment, our climate and saves so much money in packaging and landfill costs.
👉We want all states to introduce a reuse strategy to turn the tide and cut the volume of disposable items at the source, meaning fewer overflowing bins, less pressure on landfills, reduced costs and cleaner public spaces. Win win.
Let us know in the comments where you’ve seen reusables take off at events and where there’s room for improvement!
