Earlier this month, history was made at Lord's Cricket Ground in London, England.

For the first time ever, the home of cricket hosted the opening day of a women’s Test match between England and India — a milestone for women’s sport worldwide. More than 50 former England women players ranging in age from 94 to 32 took to the pitch to mark the incredible evolution of the women’s game. Among them was Isa Guha— former England cricketer, now a leading voice in global sports broadcasting, and a proud girls’ school alumna.

Moments like this remind us: when girls see women on the world’s biggest stages, they don’t just imagine what’s possible — they recognise their place within it. Across the International Coalition of Girls' Schools, sport is a powerful catalyst for confidence, courage, teamwork and leadership. Every day, girls’ schools create environments where girls participate, compete, lead and thrive.

History may be made at Lord’s — but it begins in girls’ schools around the world.

One week later, and we’re still reflecting on the conversations, connections, and ideas that emerged throughout the Global Forum on Girls’ Education.

School leaders, educators, and advocates from around the world came together with a shared commitment to advancing girls’ education—and left with new perspectives, new partnerships, and renewed energy for the work ahead.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Toronto and contributed to such a meaningful experience. The impact of these few days will continue long after the conference has ended.

On Day 1 of our Global Forum, the St. Clement's School chamber choir performed “O Sister.”

Composed by Kathleen Allan of Canada, the music is inspired by Maya Angelou’s poetry. The song was created in collaboration with the University of Minnesota Women’s Chorus and the Voices of Hope women’s prison choir in Shakopee, MN.

The lyrics serve as a poignant reminder of the power of sisterhood, community, and global connection.
