On Day 1 of our Global Forum, the St. Clement's School chamber choir performed “O Sister.”

Composed by Kathleen Allan of Canada, the music is inspired by Maya Angelou’s poetry. The song was created in collaboration with the University of Minnesota Women’s Chorus and the Voices of Hope women’s prison choir in Shakopee, MN.

The lyrics serve as a poignant reminder of the power of sisterhood, community, and global connection.

In Peru’s Amazon, Kukama Indigenous women and children worked alongside award-winning filmmaker Stephanie Boyd to create Karuara: People of the River.

Their stories, artwork, music, and cultural knowledge became part of a movement that helped secure legal rights for the Marañón River.

At the Global Forum in Toronto, Stephanie will share how film, storytelling, animation, and art can help girls connect with environmental issues—and discover their own power to create change.

In this reflection, GARC Fellow ’23-’24 Dr. Ralph Covino shares how one moment with a student reshaped the way he listens, responds, and grows as an educator.

It’s a reminder that in girls’ schools, education is relational. When girls are encouraged to speak with confidence and curiosity, they don’t just grow themselves— they help educators grow too.

"It’s an inspiring, open, supportive environment for young women growing up." 🌟

We couldn't have said it better! When we listen to our students, it reminds us of the incredible impact a dedicated girls' school environment has on their confidence, their learning styles, and their leadership skills.

This commitment to student success is what drives the upcoming 2026 ICGS Global Forum on Girls’ Education. We are inviting educators from across the globe to Toronto to collaborate on the future of girls' education, ensuring we continue to build the supportive communities these students are talking about.

And don't forget to register for the Global Forum before it's too late! https://girlsschools.org/2026-global-forum-on-girls-education/
