The Street Dance Community Grants Program by Cypher Culture is designed to support grassroots street dance communities and cultures across Victoria. This initiative enables financial support for street dance practitioners to respond to emerging opportunities, community needs, or new ideas for their practice, communities or culture. Earlier in Feb this year, we commenced a fundraising campaign with the Australian Cultural Fund to raise $5k. From your generosity, $5,275 was donated, raising a total of $10,275 👏

This contribution will flow into supporting grassroots street dance community events in Naarm, showcasing community-led events — from battles and showcases to workshops and developments.

Each project is an opportunity for dancers to create, collaborate and share their artistry with wider audiences while being paid fairly for their work - because of your generosity, we are able to support this even further!

So thank you, for your help in building a sustainable future for street dance ❤️‍🔥

We’re capturing prelims all the way till finals for every battle!

🟣 WHAT IS DANCE BATTLE? 🟣
Cypher Culture is teaming up with UHT and UMSU Activities to throw down an electrifying street dance battle in celebration of International Dance Day!

Join us TOMORROW at the University of Melbourne’s amphitheatre as top street dancers from campuses across Melbourne bring the heat, the moves and the energy! You don’t want to miss this!

📅 Date: Wednesdat 29 April, 2026
⏰ Time: Registration 12pm // Battles 1pm - 4pm
📍 Venue: Amphitheatre, University of Melbourne
👤 Open to: All uni students
