Homes through Head Lease housing – Sharing the wins
A recent win from within our housing program has been acquiring six properties under the CASA Head Lease. That’s six properties that offer a stepping stone to safe and stable housing.
Our Head Lease works with property owners and real estate agents to secure housing for clients who may struggle to find a rental otherwise. Providing clients and their families with reliable and protected housing gives them the dignity, security, and hope for the future that they deserve.

Securing long-term housing and happiness – Sharing the wins
Recently, we got in touch with a client experiencing housing instability and complex personal challenges. After being admitted to Immediate Housing, our team used the Integrated Service Model to provide sustained, wrap-around support. We worked consistently with our client to build trust, address tenancy difficulties and financial uncertainty.
Working alongside Aboriginal Hostels Limited, as well as the Immediate Housing Response and No Interest Loans programs, our client received comprehensive support to secure a long-term private rental with ongoing assistance.
We work with multiple organisations to tackle different stressors that often play a role in someone sleeping rough. We connect our clients with services that set them up for lasting success - establishing utilities, budgeting support, community resources, and regular check-ins.
CASA helps our clients get back on their feet and stay there.

🧹 NDIS Cleaners
We’re looking for reliable, down-to-earth people who genuinely care about doing a good job and supporting people to live independently in their own homes and community.
Support Worker roles may include community access, daily living assistance, personal care, transport and supporting participants to work towards their individual goals.
Cleaner roles focus on providing quality cleaning services within NDIS participants’ homes, helping people maintain a safe, comfortable and clean living environment.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last month to celebrate the official opening of CASA Mackay's new office and the next chapter in our journey.
It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome our community into our new space, reflect on how far we've come over the past 40+ years and share our vision for the future.

As the need for housing and homelessness support continues to grow across our region, our expanded office, growing team and refreshed brand represent much more than a new look – they reflect our ongoing commitment to ensuring people can access the support they need, when they need it most.

We're incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, and to those who have supported CASA Mackay throughout this journey. Together, we're building a stronger, more connected community.

This year's Together For Shelter event welcomed a broad cross-section of our community – bringing together a wide range of local organisations to connect people with housing, health, employment and wellbeing services, all in one welcoming space.

As housing pressures and financial hardship continue to affect more people, events like this are more important than ever.

A huge thank you to every organisation, volunteer and community member who helped make Together For Shelter such a welcoming and valuable event. By working together, we can help people find the right support at the right time.
