💚 A Friendly Reminder 💚

Our volunteers generously give their time to support our community and deserve to be treated with kindness and respect.

Unfortunately, this week we have experienced some instances of volunteers being spoken to rudely regarding our fruit, vegetable and bread limits. These guidelines are in place to ensure we can continue helping as many people as possible as stock becomes harder to source and needs to stretch further.

Current limits and pricing:

🍎 4 of each loose fruit & veg per household

🍓 2 punnets/packages of fruit & veg per household (eg. strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes and baby cucumbers)

🍞 Bread is $1 per loaf, or as advertised on the Bread Price Board

🍞 Free bread is only available when advertised due to excess stock

Please remember that our volunteers do not make the rules. They are simply doing their best to help others.

If you wish to air any grievances, concerns or feedback, please do not direct these towards our volunteers. Our Manager is available in store or can be contacted via email at [email protected].

Just a friendly reminder that Whitsunday Foodbank Mackay is closed today due to the Mackay Show public holiday.

We will reopen and resume normal operations on Friday from 10:00am.

We hope everyone enjoys the holiday and has a wonderful day at the show with family and friends. 💚

I’ve just done a clean-out of our closets at home and, with limited places currently accepting donations, I thought I’d offer these items directly to our Foodbank community 💚

Available FREE this Tuesday from 10am:

👕 Boys clothing – sizes 2–3
👕 Boys clothing – size 8
👗 Women’s clothing – approx. 14–16
👚 Teen girls clothing – approx. women’s 6–8

I’ll pop everything out on a table out the back - so just take what you need 🤍

No pressure, no judgement - just hoping this can help someone in our community.
