• To take all reasonable steps to ensure the er****on of a monument at the Maltese Corner in Mackay.
• To fundraise moneys to cover the cost of the er****on of the

monuments.
• To liaise with the community to ensure they are kept informed of all progress pertaining to the monuments.
• To promote the history and culture of the Maltese Community in Mackay and District.

👏 After years of hard work behind the scenes, the Maltese Corner Fundraising Group has proudly unveiled a new monument in the Mackay CBD.
The work, paying homage to the region's rich Maltese heritage, features three life-sized silicon bronze statues of Emmanuel Camilleri, John Vassallo and Sam Bezzina, based on a photograph taken at the site by the late Joe Caruana.
📷 Pictured are two of the monument's champions, Leo and Carmel Baretta, with Mayor Greg Williamson, and we couldn't help but chuckle at Leo incidentally striking a pose that fits right in 😄
