What a fantastic day at the River of Life Festival!

Thank you to the organisers for putting together such a wonderful community event, and thank you to our amazing members who volunteered their time and talents to make our display possible.

We loved meeting so many people, sharing our crafts and history, and being part of the festivities. Enjoy some photos from the day!

Mackay crew training.
Tonight we decided to have a quiet social evening after such a massive event yesterday at the River of Life Festival.
Boomerang was the suggestion, and the location work a treat. Lots of discussion (both relevant and irrelevant) over beers and other drinks of choice.

Mackay crew training.
A nice cool afternoon to finish off a rather warm day, but most of our crew are still recovering from the Armidale trip. No one was up for combat training today. More gear was collected, and lots of chatting, and planning while the kids played chess.

Mackay Fief.
Today's build day went very well. This morning my back was caning the crap out of me so was exceptionally glad I had not attendees till after lunch.
Shaun, Stace, Aubrey, Vicky, Chanon, Asta and Adam, and of course Phantom and a few kids from across the road joined the fun and showed off some projects. The finlays' tent is awesome, Vicky worked on stripping and sanding a chest ready for doing up, and I worked slowly on the BBQ surrounds.

Mackay crew training.
It was so wet at our usual training spot that we decided to go across the road to a small mound in the park. No weapons training but lots of chatting and planning for NEMAS and planning for council events like the food and wine festival.

Mackay crew training.
After all that rain it was amazingly wet, to the point that water was flowing off the lawn over the full length of the road gutter like Niagara falls. It was so wet we didn't even go on the grass. We all collected on the road and discussed all things reenacting, with particular focus on NEMAS and next Saturday's build day, and Chanon 'smashed' the puddles with his Thor's hammer!

Tae and I are attending the Community Bank Sarina Community Engagement Program Information Session at the Sarina Bowls Club.
We are hoping to get grants for a defib and possibly a bus and trailer.

Mackay crew training. A breezy, overcast day made for a nice gathering and training session, though still very steamy and soggy.

Shaun and Liam led training for Vlad, Haydn, Asta, The Woodsman and Chris.
Ælif was busy chatting to everyone
Aoife worked on some sewing projects, Tae paraded in her freshly finished dress, Aubrey sang & The Wall patrolled the perimeter. Val supervised and Tammy dropped in for a chat.

The kids Toby and Chanon played hard and had a general great time.
