Mackay parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run / walk put on by the community for the community at 7am every Saturday morning in Mackay.

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Mackay parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful natural environment and get physically active in the process. We want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance before your first ever parkrun event. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once! Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there!

This Saturday our event is a special one, one that we dedicate to raising the awareness of Breast Cancer.

To mark the occasion, a collaborative community mural, “Lifted by Love, Carried by Courage”, will be on display for those that wish to honour survivors, support those in active treatment, and remember loved ones lost.

Reminder, to wear pink if you are able 🩷

As always, our themes are 100% optional 🙂

Do you love a milestone as much as “pram guy”? Well you are in luck as parkrun now recognises the century milestones in addition to all of the original milestone achievements.

So be prepared to celebrate at any or all of the following; 10 (Juniors), 25, 50, 100, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 & 1,000!

Tomorrow, “pram guy” (previously known as Jack), will be bringing up his 200th finish, a milestone he can’t wait to celebrate!

Friday vibes knowing that parkrun is on again tomorrow and it's another chance to achieve 5km your way.

Walk, jog or run, all are welcome.

Race pack pickup for the Run for Mi Life can also be done straight after our event from the amphitheater, so head on over after you finish and get all your running tasks done in one hit!
Plus Jai from Enter the Land will be down there with all your coffee needs 👌
