We were thrilled to present at Tas Talent Day, sharing how Dress for Success Tasmania is helping break down barriers to employment and create more inclusive pathways into the workforce.

We explored the practical challenges people can face when looking for work, from financial hardship and caring responsibilities to employment gaps and a lack of confidence, and how our services help people take their next steps with confidence.

We also highlighted the important role employers play in recognising potential, transferable skills and lived experience, and how small changes to recruitment practices and workplace flexibility can open doors to new opportunities.

Drawing on our Employment Preparation Program partnership with Federal Hospitality, we shared how collaboration between community organisations and employers can help bridge the gap between a person’s potential and their opportunity to thrive.

A huge thank you to the Tas Talent Day team for inviting us to be part of such an important conversation and Wrest Point Hobart for hosting.

Together, we can break down barriers, create opportunities and build a more inclusive workforce for our community.

This Anti-Poverty Week we are recognising the importance of ensuring everyone has access to the essentials they need to live with dignity and build a more secure future.

Financial hardship creates barriers to accessing essential items and employment opportunities.

Meaningful employment can provide more than an income - it can offer financial independence, a sense of purpose, connection and the opportunity to build a brighter future.

At Dress for Success Tasmania, we help break down barriers to employment through styling, career support and practical guidance, supporting people to build confidence and take their next steps.

We believe everyone deserves to have someone in their corner, to be treated with dignity, and to have the opportunity to thrive.

Tomorrow is World Op Shop Day!

While we might not be your average op shop, we are very proud of our temporary pop-up shop in Hobart and the difference every purchase makes.

There’s so much more to pre-loved shopping than finding a great outfit. It’s about giving quality clothing a second life, keeping textiles out of landfill and supporting our community.

To celebrate World Op Shop Day, we will have a $1 rack tomorrow! Come in, grab yourself a bargain.

🕙 10:00am – 2:00pm
📍1/40 Elizabeth Street, Hobart

Every purchase helps us continue our free services, supporting women across Tasmania to build confidence, independence and connection.

We loved being part of the Care2serve Carer Fun Day today!

At Dress for Success Tasmania, we know that many of the people we support are also carers, balancing the responsibilities of caring for family members or friends alongside their own goals, work and everyday lives.

It was wonderful to connect with our community, share more about our services and celebrate the incredible contribution of carers of all ages across Tasmania.

Thank you to the Care2serve team for bringing everyone together and recognising the people who give so much to others.
